So we were planning to go to an all inclusive in the next 3 weeks or else over the last half of March Break so I've been stalking the sell offs. Well.....at 4pm today I get a phone call to tell me that I am going to be off work for at least this week. I work in long term care and the building has gone into total outbreak. Since I'm non essential staff I am not allowed to work when this happens. No biggie really it happens every so often and it's just part of the job.

So, I call DH to see if he can get a week off starting tomorrow and he says he will check but in the mean time find a vacation to book. I found a great deal to Cuba which I'm not that interested in going there but it's super cheap and it departs tomorrow evening. Shortly after DH calls and says no way can he go any time this week....bummer. He then says I should take our DD and go to FL. I checked into it and I can get an excellent airfare on Jetblue and a room at ASmu with the 25% off deal. For the 2 of us to go it will cost less than $800 plus meals.

Only problem is I can't pull the trigger since I really wanted to go to an island. What to do????? :confused3

If a Island is really what you want..then book a all inclusive somewhere!
Do WDW another time :-)

My DD is only 10 so going to an island without another adult is not an option. I don't think I would feel comfortable. I was only thinking WDW because I feel 100% safe there and have gone with DD alone before.

I just found a Disney cruise that we can get on this Thursday....it totally fits in with the cheap flight I found to MCO.

Thinking about it.......:rolleyes1

Either go to WDW, or the cruise! I agree, an island with a 10 year old probably isn't going to be the ideal vacation without your DH.

I think a last minute cruise is an excellent idea!

Have fun, whatever you decide. :)

Sounds like fun! I may be in a similar position in April ... work shutting down for a week or two at a time when my DH can't get off work ... traveling with one of the kids sounds like a great way to pass the time, especially with it so darn cold here right now!

Pull the trigger!!!! Pull the trigger!!! WDW with just you and dd will be bonding time she'll remember forever!!!!!

Ok..so if it's WDW what will we do???? We were just there in September for 10 days and did all the parks. I've only got 1 day left on my park tickets.

Dh says rent a car and shop...:rotfl2:

I'll have to decide something tomorrow.....Dh is going to ask again if he can have next week off. I found an amazing deal to Cuba....$1500 for the 3 of us and it's a well know resort departing on Sunday morning. To be honest I wouldn't pick Cuba but that's just to good to pass up and the temp it double there to what it currently is in Orlando.

We did it in 2007 and I promised that we would go again, just the 2 of us, but I was thinking about doing that next winter. I've been madly collecting Airmiles to get park tickets for that. LOL...I've got enough AM now but it's useless on short notice.
