Very stressed today... bomb threat at dd's school....

.... this day can't be gone fast enough.... yesterday there was a bomb scare at my dd's school. It happened 3 or 4 times last year, kinda used to it but inconvenient. Well this one is totally different.... usually the following day the kids go to school like normal- yesterday before they let the kids leave the "safe" area they announced school would be opened at 7 am like normal... then there is an announcement on the nightly news that there would be no school until Noon today....They have NEVER done that before. My dd said they evacuated the school differently too... instead of pulling the fire alarm the Principal got one the PA system and said, "All teachers are to take their classes and IMMEDIATELY evacuate the building." I would like to know what kind of threat this was and if they found anything....

My ds is saying he doesn't feel well.... I have class and a quiz.... (which you are not able to make up) I really think he is fine- just woke up grouchy... but I feel torn..... Is it Thursday yet??

My dd(16) just told me that her school gets about 7 bomb threats a day. That worries me. She's so matter of fact about it.

Last year my school had a anthrax scare... we had to go to the gym of the HS next door.. because we were on a field trip at the time... everyone else were stuck in the building yuck... BUt we got to miss the next day of school!

I would be on the phone with the school now! And demand they tell me what's going on! Hang in there.

It is a scarey situation. I am surprised that you didn't get a letter yesterday stating what had happened. In our school district if anything like that happens, the principal will immediately send out a letter detailing the situation. Hopefully, you will hear some news today. If I was a student, and this happened, I might feel sick today also.

I understand what your going through. DD#1's school had threats last year. One (the first one) she was pertrified to go back to school the next day. I kept her home and wrote a note explaining why she was absent! Nothing was said. There were alot of kids absent that day.
