Ok, this is very weird. I got an email from Jetblue, but in the "from" line it says "Dear Jetblue". The email says to call the 800 # so they can advise me of the change in my itinerary.

I logged onto Jetblue and there is no change stated in my info there. My flight times have been changed already once and I did not get an email about it - they just changed (only by about 40 minutes).

The email does not state my name - the only info it has is my email address and my confirmation #. This email did NOT come to the 2 other email addresses for the 2 other people in my party (on the same confirmation).

I have not called yet.

Does this seem a little strange to you??

How long ago did JetBlue change your flight? This could be an e-mail -- admittedly a late one -- advising you of that change.

As for you getting the e-mail and not the other people -- is your e-mail the primary e-mail on the confirmation? If so, that may be why only you got the notice.

I don't think there would be any harm in calling JetBlue to find out what's up.

As long as they're not asking for any billing information (Social Security Number, credit card information), you should be fine to call them.

If they ask for that information, then I'd be a little bit leery.

I don't know about JetBlue, but American frequently seems to send notices of itinerary changes by snail mail or e-mail long after the changes can be viewed online. My guess is that they're just getting to notifying you about the change that you already had seen.

What is your hesitation to call, exactly? I guess I don't understand posting on the DIS before you've called when you could have already called and allayed your worries.

If that's not JetBlue's standard phone number, I wouldn't call it. Call the number on the website if they are different.

You are right to wonder about the authenticity of the email, but I wouldn't ignore it entirely. Do look at the properties of the message, and see if there is an odd alias that turns up in the header anywhere. If it turns out not to be from JetBlue, you should call JetBlue anyway and let them know about it; I'm sure that they would be interested in tracking anyone who is sending emails purporting to be from them.

My friend is coming down with us this August. They are flying Jet Blue and they also received an e-mail from them about a change in their itinerary. They called and it was just a small minor time difference. HTH.

Ok, I called and they told me there were no changes  Very strange.

They said they did indeed send me an email (I guess it said it on his screen) but he did not know why. He thought it was strange that the email came from Dear Jetblue instead of just Jetblue.

So anyway nothing to worry about I guess. Thanks for your help!
