work on the cruise ship. We got two they, are Motorola with 14 channels and 32 codes.
I just had to have them I guess I am a kid at heart.

Don't have them myself, but have seen others using them successfully. However, remember the ship at its heart is metal, which will limit their range some.

We used them. For the most part, they worked great. But, as was posted, the ship is made of metal so sometimes they were a bit difficult (very long distance, different decks). Definitely worth bringing them along if you think you would use them...

We have Motorolas too, and here are some examples. Outside to outside works all the time. For instance, verandah on deck 5 (or was it 6?) to somebody by the pool, or deck 9 or 10, or aft on deck 7. From within the room, it just depends on how far away they are (and how much metal is between you). A room on deck 2 to somebody poolside --- very scratchy connection, not usable. Inside stateroom on 5 to somebody poolside --- sometimes yes, sometimes no, depending on where the topside party is. Room to theater, or lab, or any restaraunts -- this worked consistently. From Castaway to the boat -- no problem. So, they mostly worked, and in a pinch there's always house phones if you're calling your room.

We didn't use ours a great deal, but they did come in handy when my DH was circling the port parking lot, waiting for the weekly parking lot to open while DD and I were on the curb.

I got a big kick out of the fact that they worked while I was in the middle of St. Thomas, shopping and DH & DD were back on the ship!

Hi Folks:wave:
I hope DCL makes you turn them off while in the Theaters and dining rooms. Nothing more aggravating than listening to crack, whistle, screech &%@$@&^% when trying to listen or enjoy yourself.:p

Wow that must really be annoying with walkie talkies going off in a theater. We have ear phones to go with ours. And would assume we will be together at a show. But a very good point.
