So sorry for the loss of your kitty. When growing up 2 kittys found our family, and stayed for 17 years, it broke my heart when they died, but with time now I just have fond and funny memories of them. I hope this point comes to your family soon.

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our old lab mix dog early this summer after a stroke. Its so hard to make that decision even though you know its best. We still miss her, but we can laugh now every time something happens that reminds us of her. But, at a time when we didn't feel we could add another pet to our lives because the hurt was too raw, we were adopted by a stray cat. She came in through the doggie door and took up residence. Miss Kitty (we weren't sure she'd stay) was about 6 months old and had been living on the streets. She evidently decided we needed a cat. She moved in, whipped the dogs into shape and has taken on the role as queen of the house. Its amazing how fast they can take your heart. Don't give up on more pets, you'll know when you're ready for a new family member.

I am so sorry. Our animals are so much a part of the family. I keep thinking that we'll never get another one when we've lost one but we do. Another cat doesn't replace the much beloved one but there is always another cat that needs a loving family like yours and it becomes a win - win.

Thank you guys. I am feeling really sad right now and am still in shock but I know things will get better. I know he knew that we loved him and I felt that love in return. I am so thankful that we were home and not out of town. I got to spend those last hours with him trying to help him through and that meant a lot to us both.
