Thought I'd post a very quick dining overview of our recent WDW trip. Hope my comments and observations might help someone. Sorry, there are no pictures of food :(

9 Dragons EPCOT (dinner) It started raining and we had a hard time getting to EPCOT that evening so we ended up being about 20 minutes late for our reservation :( But they did take us and we were seated within a few minutes. Waiter was friendly and explained all the dished. I had the honey chicken (split with dd) and ds had the childrens sweet and sour chicken. Both were tasty--about what you would expect from Chineese take out (maybe a tiny step above what you'd get at a mall Chinese food stand.)

WGP Cafe (dinner) Service was fine. Food was ok. Nothing specific to complain about (well, I'd complain about the prices if I didn't have the DDP.) My dd and I split a meal (and had plenty to eat) and the waiter semed a bit miffed.

Tusker House (breakfast) Decent character interaction. Room was a bit crowded. Waiter brought the famous juice and I thought it tasted weird. Both normal breakfast foods and a few "exotic" dishes. Even a picky eater should be able to find something to eat at this buffet.

1900 Park Fare (dinner) EXCELLENT Character interaction. They were amusing to watch. Food was ok. My Dh really, really liked this buffet but I'm didn't care for it at all. My ds is EXTREMELY picky and pretty much all he would eat was some fruit and dessert. The waitress brought me a special ice cream dessert for my birthday. It was very good. I also witnessed several tables with food allergies and they had a chef come out and talk to them and take them around the buffet. Very cool.

Ohana (breakfast) BEST BREAKFAST of the entire trip. Yummy pineapple bread. They were very quick to refill anything we wanted. Good character interaction with a very cute parade.

However...before going I remember a poster somewhere on the disboards complaining about them not being able to find his reservation. I made us get to the check in stand about 15 minutes early just for this reason. I was second in line. The couple in front of us was having issues because their reservation could not be found. The Dad pulled up his cell phone and looked up his confirmation email and got the number and the Ohana employee still could not locate his reservation. Seriously, two other employees walked up and nobody could do a thing. I stood there for 20 minutes (remember I was second in line) before they got to me. Employees appeared to be incompetent.

But once we got called back everything was good. They gave me a birthday button and a signed card. At the end of the meal the waitress brought me out a cupcake.

1900 Park Fare (breakfast) Basic standard breakfast buffet. It was ok. Characters were ok. We were one of the last seated for breakfast so we got a little more time with the characters than usual. The table next to us had a 3 yo little girl and I guess some food allergies. The chef came out to escort them to the buffet. The characters came by while they were gone so all 4 characters just sat down at their table and waited for them. Unfortunately when the little girl came back and saw Pooh, Tigger, Alice, and Mary Poppins sitting at her table she came unglued. The characters left and came back a while later when she had calmed down a bit.

Cape May Clam Bake (dinner). VERY good dinner. LOVED the crab legs. Buffet was clean and the food appeared to be replenished frequently. My only complaint was the waitress. Service was good and she brought me a special dessert for my birthday (mousse covered in chocolate?.) But she also handed me a paper cup that had the bottom removed and told me (and everyone else while she was announcing my birthday) that the cup was a hearing aid. haha very funny. but it wasn't, kwim? Anyway, I think she was trying to be funny so I didn't make a big deal of it.

Cape May Character Breakfast. Very good service. Buffet was decent. Characters were fun and they spent some time playing with my kids. We really enjoyed the boat ride to the Beach Club resort.

Chef Mickey (breakfast). I won't waste my dining credits here again. Service was nearly nonexistant. We never got a drink refill or plates taken away. The server took our drink orders and we never saw him again until we stopped a different server and asked for the check. Buffet was messy and the characters were skipping tables. We eventually saw all of them but it took forever. When the waiter brought out the check he gave me a cupcake. It was chocolate and was probably the best tasting one I had all week :)

Princess Storybook Norway (breakfast) VERY good character interaction with a very cute parade. We were seated quickly and received our picture packet about halfway through the meal. Buffet was clean but they seemed to run out of some items and were slow to replenish. This was my Dh's favorite buffet. They also brought me a cupcake at the end of the meal.

The Plaza Restaurant (dinner) I was surprised at how small this restaurant is. The server was nice and friendly. By this time of our trip I was REALLY wanting a good cheeseburger. I got it here. The food came out quickly and was quite tasty. We enjoyed the meal. Kids loved their ice cream dessert with the Mickey ears and cone hat. Dh got the banana split and it was VERY big and yummy. I was stuffed so I just asked for a cup of hot chocolate (it had turned freezing cold during this part of our trip) for my dessert. It was ok hot chocolate.

A could notable QS establishments:

Columbia Harbor House: Dh LOVED the hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich. I had the fried shrimp and they were VERY fishy tasting. I couldn't even eat them. The kids had yogurt and split a chicken nugget entree (same as all the ckn nuggets in the parks.) The apple pie dessert was good, but a little dry.

WGP Express: service was bad. no refills (got up and got them myself). Pizza was really, really good and plenty big to share. They let us have the creme brulee for dessert (I read others had some issue getting this witht he DDP.) The only restriction they put on us was we couldn't have Powerade for our drinks.

Captain Cooks: We popped over there one night because I had read they have a Dole Whip machine :). It was about 7pm and the place was deserted. We ordered (and for being such a small restaurant they had a pretty good election) and it took about 20 minutes to get our food and it was hot and good. After eating we got the Dole Whips. We had our first Dole Whips at DL in CA last year. I thought they were awesome. I was so surprised when I tasted this Dole Whip--tasted like plastic. eeew. Dh and the kids didn't notice any bad taste. Ruined Dole Whips for me forever. By the time we were into the Dole Whips we could see some of the fireworks from Wishes. I bet the show would have been great if we'd been on the patio (but it was cold outside.)

POP Century Food Court: they were actually pretty good. The cashiers were very nice about explaining the DDP and what we could have. I had a very good turkey sandwich on caibatta bread, the pizza was decent. Good selection of desserts and we were allowed to get fruit as a dessert. The BEST thing was the ice cream.

It took us a few days to realize they had an ice cream/bakery section that was outside of the main food court area. One day we got milkshakes for our dessert :) A couple of other times we got sundaes (3 huge scoops of ice cream and whatever toppings you want)--and Dh even got the brownie sundae. The kids thought it was the best thing ever.

Well, those are my thoughts. lol

Thanks for your thoughts! I have been wondering about WPC and it looks like I will be leaving it out of my dining plans.
