I currently have booked for the 14th a standard room at the Yacht Club. I am considering either a studio or a 1 bedroom at the Beach Club Villas (if one is available). I would like input from the board - which would you do? There are 4 of us, myself, my son (16), my sister, and her daughter (18). Prices would be (provided the DVC point calculator is right, which it might not be):

Studio - $140
Yacht Club - $255
1 Bedroom - $300

If the 1 bedroom is 40 points instead of 30, that makes our choice much easier. So, how about suggestions (for all those who have wanted to tell me where to go)?

Although two will have to share the sleeper sofa, the 1 BR has a full kitchen and washer dryer...and that wonderful soaing tub. The bathroom is much larger, very roomy, and the commode is in a seperate little room off the room the shower is in.

if the cost works with your budget and you can get it, I wouldn't think twice, I'd book the 1BR.

According to http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/rescc/costcalc.asp (which I'm not positive is correct either) the price for the one bedroom unit at the beach club (assuming you meant Aug. 14th) would be $390 rack rate. Then deduct whatever discounts you may be able to get.

I'm not sure if you've been quoted $300, but if not, this may play into helping make your decision. In any event, have a great vacation! :)

One thing to be very careful of with DVC renting points is that the point requirement goes way high on Fridays and Satuday's so that 1BR at BCV that is 30 pts on August 14th would be 60 points on Friday 15th.....

Also watch out!!! Your stay looks like it might cross seasons - on DVC points, the season changes Saturday August 16th so that night would be 56 points and then Sunday August 17th thru Friday August 22nd departure would be 28pts per night

You do not have as a choice, but you may want to consider OKW 1BR - they are quite a bit larger and run 22pts for the Thurs and then 54 for Friday, 48 for Saturday and then 20 for the Sun-Thur period following

The one drawback is in buildings 30 and lower, the entrance to the one large bathroom is through the master bedroom

Thanks

I haven't stayed at any of these, so I am completely prepared to give you an answer with no credibility. I think I would prefer the Yacht Club, but in looking at the price difference, I think I would choose the $140 option. I think I will spend lots of money at WDW and the less I spend on the room, the more I'll have to spend on stuff I can keep:earsboy:
