Someone in another forum asked about Santa on-board. Is it a ticketed event? Is he available more than once? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

The first night of the cruise they'll have a tree lighting ceremony in the atrium. There will be carolers, the characters dressed in holiday attire and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. During the cruise there will be (non-ticketed) opportunities to have your photo taken with Santa. He is available more than once.

There are great activities from ornament making to making a gingerbread house. You do need a ticket to make the gingerbread house. They are very limited and go fast. You cannot book them in advance. As soon as you board go to guest services to sign up.

Do they provide stuff to decorate the houses or should you bring your own?

They give you candy to decorate with. Just know that you can't take it off the ship though. so try to schedule it early in the cruise so you have time to eat it on board.

I have a question that's kind of related - I've read that some people go and get their photo with Santa on Xmas Day dressed in their PJs. Is that a 'thing', to walk around in Christmas PJS? Or just a few people making a strange wardrobe choice? It sounds like fun, but not prepared to be the only one! :rotfl:

I've seen families dressed in coordinating Christmas pjs in line for photos and it's quite ok. I've never done it or thought of it as strange but I'm sure those folks had great Christmas cards.

People on our not merry time cruise organised a PJ breakfast. I completely forgot about it (we didn't sing up) until we saw a lot of people in PJ's one morning ;) Their group picture with the statue looked nice.

We did that on one cruise. The FaceBook group did a few cruise meetups and we did a pj breakfast. It was actually kinda fun; although I don't really have pj's - so I just wore shorts and a T-shirt.

Any other tips for making our kids feel like it is Christmas in our cabin? We will be on the Fantasy on the 25th.

Assuming that is not October 25th...you can order the Christmas decorations for your room...even a Christmas tree.

Go the website and under My Disney Cruise go to In-Room Gifts & Amenities.

Yeah, there's quite a few bits under the Gifts and Amenities section on the DCL website if you don't want to do your own thing. Otherwise, just be sure to checkout the rules and regulations about bringing your own decorations, trees and lights. I think battery operated, low voltage lights are okay, but NOT plug in ones. Trees have to be a certain height, I think. We are getting a tiny 1-2ft desktop one. And any decorations you have in your room need to be fixed without the use of anything sticky, otherwise you will find yourself with a large cleanup bill post cruise. Anything you stick on your door needs to be magnetic only. We had a room with an adjourning room and found that was magnetic too, so we kept leaving messages for our room host on that one, inside the cabin! :rotfl:
