Very Late Arrival Question

We are planning an overnight drive and could arrive anytime between 3a and 6a depending on traffic and when we get started. We are contemplating adding a night onto the front of our reservation so that we will have a room to go to when we arrive rather than taking the chance of it not being ready until 3:00p in the afternoon.

Has anybody arrived this late? Is there a chance of the room being given away if we were not to get there until 6a?

That's one where I'd check-in in online and note the late arrival in as many places as possible.

For sure, I would most definitely say I'd be arriving after midnight and might even call and ask a cast member to add a note.

They won’t give away the room. Especially no issue if you are there before 6:30

Complete online check in
Do the last possible arrival time
People’s flights are late all the time
So you getting in a few hours later than you put won’t be any surprise

And yes, I have done just the same thing. We arrived even later too. I knew after such an early flight we needed a room right away so I paid for the night before. It was good to be able to get in and rest

Agree agree agree with the posters here. Check in online and mark your arrival very late. The room should be there waiting for you when you eventually arrive.

It’s been reported that Disney won’t count a guest as a No Show and give away the room until 2 nights have passed without the guest arriving. With Direct to Room, not stopping at the front desk, they know the guest arrived when the door is unlocked via MB or MDE app. So you’d be fine even if you arrive after 6 AM. However, as PP have said, it’s best to call Disney reservations and have a note placed that you expect to arrive the next morning. You might be able to do that via Chat in MDE - try that first before dealing with potentially long phone hold time.

I would certainly let Disney know what you are planning so it appears on your reservation. Having the room for an extra day makes sense so you have somewhere to go if you arrive that early in the AM. I doubt you want to lay around in the lobby if your room wouldn't be ready until later on your arrival day. Who knows how things might work if the hotel happens to be fully booked? I wouldn't depend on their general policy to always apply.
