I am upset and saddened that this is happening to you!
VMK really needs to do something about similiar names and the use of caps.

I can verify that a capital I in vmk looks like an L in lowercase in vmk.
I know this because i have a character I also play titled

MonstersINCFan only in vmk it looks like MonsterslNCFan
I hope this is recitified and the person doing this is banned for life!

I know just how you feel, except my experience did not involve virtual items!

There was a situation that occurred just this past weekend within VMK, where my VMK title was singled out as the culprit.....and I stood there in disbelief.

It is very easy to mistake who someone is within VMK! There are many ways to spell things....l's that are I's, I's that are L's, extra letters thrown in or a letter omitted here or there...Be sure to get the correct spelling!

To whom ever is doing this, it is just a matter of time before your IP address is banned for life!!!! Any items you may have gotten, will be returned to their rightful owners and you will of done this for nought....and your penalty will be that you cannot return to VMK! To think that you would stoop so low as to intentionally impersonate someone to acquire virtual items!

VMK will be a much better place without people like you there so heres to counting down the seconds till your life ban!!

Wow.. This is not good at all. I know you would never do anything like this to anybody! I just do not know what is happening to VMK these days, and the more and more I get on I see people with almost the exact title as some people I know or even my friends!.... They should be taken care of because nobody wants a impersonator or a "stalker" at that.

Sorry you are going through this... you do know you have all of our support here- Like Aeryn said- if you need us to send letters to VMK too we will be more than happy to- I have not seen the alternate you. I wonder if there is a pattern you can discern based on the people who are being visited and the people not being visited- as in one group a friends who may all have the same person on their friend's list.

This is just too insane- sorry this person has no life and chooses to bring yours down. I'm a strong believer of Karma- and even though this person may end up banned from VMK and Dis very soon- I am sure that somewhere down the road they will get even more from the Karma Fairy

If you are the person doing this- reading this post- I suspect you would and enjoy the sneakiness of it- "Get a Life" and expect no more Pixie Dust in your life in the future. Bah!

well, i dont know if this applies to webmasterkelsie, but there is someone out there who is HACKING into people's accounts. i dont know how. she signed on into her account, stole ALL my friends' items, including her inferno, stitch hat, and sparrow suit. the person changed her password AND switched all her items into another account. this all happened 2 days ago. that person ( and i KNOW who) came up to her and laughed in her face saying that it was her. my friend came up to me in a totally new account today and told me everything. well, this is just a warning to everone! i know who she is, but i dont know if i can reaveal her name on the boards.

You can write to Contact Us and describe the events of the "hacker"
taunting and admitting guilt to your friend. VMK keeps a transcript of
all text, in trade windows and in the rooms. They can investigate any
shady activity and might be able to fix things for her.

Last night, I ventured into a trade room where a girl claimed to have
had her stuff stolen. I was skeptical that she said she had her Inferno,
Stitch hat and Sparrow Suit taken, yet she was wearing Invisibility and
Fireworks magic pins. My immediate thought was that this girl was
lying to the room to garner sympathy to get either a better trade deal or
free stuff.

So if your friend says she does NOT want to write VMK in Contact Us,
telling them what day and around what time the alleged hacker admitted
taking her stuff, I would tend to think she wasn't being truthful, either.

This imposter must be a dis boards member as (s)he successfully found many other dis'ers. (S)he also knows who a moderator is on the vmk boards and that she is a webmaster. Either this person is a common poster, or just a lurker who has done her(his) research well.

Has this happened to anyone else or just you Blue? If it is just you, I would think it's more likely to be someone that you know, who is definitely not a friend of yours. Could it possibly be someone you know who is angry at you at the moment and wanted to make you miserable by impersonating a person such as Kelsie?

I have been around the Dis since before vmk was opened. I never knew WebmasterKelsie's vmk name until last night when she mentioned it in this thread. So my guess is not only this person a dis member, but also a friend or at least aquaintance of Kelsie on vmk. Or, this person could just be an angered DIS member (not of any mature age) and possibly looked up Kelsie's vmk name on the sticky ...that is, if Kelsie's Dis to vmk name is listed on that thread.

It's someone who's upset with me, not any of the people they've approached. It's their way to get even with me for enforcing the DIS rules. We are 99% certain we know who this is and yes, they are a member of the DIS. Once I am certain, I am seriously considering action including contacting parents, because we do have the information on this person. We can NOT let this happen without doing something about it.

I will not be in VMK with my name until this person is gone so, if you see me, report it! It is not ME!

VMK is being very helpful and they also want to get to the bottom of this, they know it wasn't me and I assure you, they know who you are.

Please protect your VMK names! This was accomplished by using a cap. i in place of a lower case L. It looks very real and could fool anyone.

That is so low..I cant believe that someone would do that to you, I dont really know you but just hearing that post you made sounds nothing like you would do. I used to play Neopets most of you probably know what it is, and one day at random someone neomailed me and said give me your warf and snowbunny or I will ban yuour account becasue I am the creators son. And I said no and he kept sending things back saying " Yea, if you dont give me those petpets im getting my dad!" So I kept yelling and finally blocked him and I checked on his account later and it was frozen. Luckily I dont play Neopets anymore it is such a waste of time in my opinion.
