I am bursting with excitement.
We finally joined DVC on Sunday p.m. I paid a deposit and today the guide called me and assisted me with making my first reservations for the New Years week at SSR for a one bedroom.
The point price was $90.00 (included the Saratoga savings) and 2005 points. We also received a $50.00 giftcard when we did the tour (our second tour).
I have to say we toured SSR before the offical tour on our own. I quiete liked it. To me eating at the pool is not that important, neither is valet parking.
I rented points from another member for the beginning of December 2006 at OKW in a one bedroom, then am going on the 10 day Disney Christmas Cruise and then we will go to SSR for a week over New Years in a one bedroom.
This is going to be our longest vacation yet - not sure if we will be driving or not.
Unfortunately CDN do not get a benefit for referring someone. So it may be helpful if other canadians want to use some of our american friends names to do the referral - I believe you guys get a $200 referral bonus/credit.
The guide also told me that if you add on 130 points then currently they are giving annual passes - not sure if it is one or two - he also said that if you join for lesser points they are giving out two one day passes to the parks.
Anyhow, I am very excited about our membership
Take care and thanks to all of you for your input and the great posts that truly helped me make my decision.
