So tonight my DH gave me a surprise.. we are going to see La Nouba on our anniversary.:lovestruc I am really really excited. The thing is those we have an ADR for Yachtsmans at 5:35 the show isnt til 9 but you have to get there at 8:30 and transportation says that it will take 30 minutes to get there. How long does dinner take at Yachtsman if we only do entrees and deserts?

I think 30 minutes is really optimistic for Disney transportation to DTD. The DTD buses run a lot less frequently that the theme park buses.

In your situation, I wouldn't even consider using the buses, I'd get a cab from YC to DTD Westside. It'll take about 15 minutes, and probably be around $15. Well worth it for a comfortable, stress-free trip.

I know this is going to sound really stupid but I have never used a cab ever so how should I go about this?

I agree with Lynne--I would take a cab too. The DTD bus from the BC takes a long time and there a few stops on the way--TL, the first DTD stop, and sometimes BWI and Swan/Dolphin.

You'll probably be out of your dinner about 7-7:30 pm. My suggestion is before going to the expense of a cab, go to the bus stop for a few minutes. Ask if one had just come to DD. If it did, forget it and grab a cab at the front of the resort. You won't see a DD bus for quite awhile. But you might just get lucky and be able to grab a bus and save some cash. The bus isn't bad at all! If you do take the bus, be sure to get dropped off at the WEST side, and not the Marketplace.

After dropping $$$$ on dinner and theater tickets I don't think $15 for a cab will matter.:goodvibes
Have a great time. You will have plenty of time. Show up for your adr by 5:10 if it still bothers you.

I think you will have no problem taking the bus. You should be out of dinner by 7:00/7:30 which gives you an hour to get to DtD. They run more DtD buses at night so yiu should be fine. If you do find yourself running late take a cab, but I don't think it will come to that.

Have a great time!

I would also opt for the cab. You will most likely be dressed up and it is a much more comfortable drive. Cabs are usually down by the check in areas of the resorts.

Speak to the Bellman at the front door and ask them to call one for you. If they aren't right nearby they won't be too far away either. Just remember to ask your cab driver for a phone number for the cab company to call them back when your show is over.

Outside the entrance of YC, you'll find a Bell Services desk or window. That's where you'll find the folks who park guests' cars, help them with luggage, give directions, and call cabs. Just walk up and tell them you need a cab.

There may already be some cabs waiting by the entrance; there often are. If not, they'll have one there for you in a matter of minutes.

You may get out of YS by 7:00 unless they are just totally slammed.
Though I've never been to La Nouba, I can't imagine that they don't have people walking in and getting seated right up to showtime. I've seen a different Cirque show in Vegas, and there was some pre-show entertainment, but it wasn't like it was any major part of the attraction and there were people still taking their seats when the show started(of course that's not polite, I'm just sayin'...)

Thank you for all the wonderful advice. I really apperiate it. Im really excited. :goodvibes

Hi RooRach0906,
It appears everyone has done a great job of answering your questions. I just wanted to say have a great anniversary. I have been to both Yachtsmans and La Nouba and they are both wonderful. That will be a great evening. Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary!!! We will be at the world the same time as you....we had a similar problem, only opposite...if that makes sense. We have 7:15 am ressies at Chef Mickeys and the busses dont run that early from CB. We were advised by our Diseny agent to pre-request a cab via a link she sent us. Now we are all set with no worries. I would not want to ruin a wonderful dinner at the Yachtsman with worries about transportation....good luck...
