Very dissappointed with MS today!

I had a CM use points from the wrong use year and that really screwed things up. I lost about 160 points because I didn't know they had expired. She used current year instead of what I still had from previous year. Didn't find out till it was too late. Now they are sitting in an RCI account which I don't know if I'll use!

Looking at all my vacation days for 2014 it DOES NOT say these were banked point, current points!

It just list how many point were used?

I could see when my total dropped below current use year amount,but again member service should have fixed it when I called to reconcile my reservations.

Live and learn! Next time I will ask 3-4 times to make sure they are doing their job correctly!

Are you looking at the Points Activity Statement? It can be found by selecting Vacation Points from the My Membership menu. Then there is a small link under your contract number labelled "View Activity Statement"

Good point about looking at bankable window.

I will do that from now on.

What confused this years points was last minute Christmas trip and at one point we had 5 different reservations for 5 nights.

With some wait list coming through and rooms popping up we got it down to 2 reservations at 2 resorts.

Again, when they consolidated 4 nights into 1 reservation I ask to be sure the points were being applied correctly and was told yes! I asked the question this gives me 150 bankable points! That is how many we get each year.

So either she was to lazy to look or didn't know what she was doing!

Thanks for all the insight and just wanted to warn others and learn like others have tried to in the past.
 
Banked points have caused us some problems in the past where MS had used current year's points before our banked points. We then had to go through a process similar to the OP (less any attitude from MS).

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. The only way it came to my attention was I was trying to book a reservation online and it wanted me to borrow points to complete the reservation when I should have had enough with current and banked points.

I backed out of the reservation and tried again (thinking I had made a mistake)--then I noticed the only points that were being made available were the current points. I used the online chat feature and was told it was a known IT problem and try again later.

I tried the next day--same thing. I called member services--same thing. I was told they would have to refer it to the IT dept to get if resolved. It took a few days before it was resolved. So, I don't know if the software glitch has been corrected in general or if they are just fixing this on a case by case basis.
