Dh and I went on a little overnight getaway to Grand Rapids, MI, hoping to visit a really great Disney store at one of their malls. We saved it to be the last thing we did before heading home. When we walked in I was just as disappointed with it as our local DS. Why are there no adult clothing items stocked in these stores???? We don't have kids, but we love buying Disney stuff, particularly clothing. All we find anymore is one table of t-shirts and a couple of racks of pajamas and nightshirts. We couldn't even find any antenna balls.

Does anyone know why they've gone to practically all children's goods? It's very frustrating and impossible to get a "Disney fix" when we haven't been to WDW since 2000.

Got any ideas?

I noticed that too the last time I went in there... mostly kids clothes and toys. We don't both going, anymore.

I guess that stuff sells! All about money =)

It's diffently hit or miss. Sometimes they have tons of stuff, sometimes absolutly nothing.......

I noticed the same thing about the Disney Store here in Boynton Beach (Palm Beach Co., FL.) Lots of kids toys and clothes, and that was about it. They used to have that AND adult clothes, collectibles, videos/DVD's, etc. It was like having the Emporium in your mall. Unfortunately I guess those days are past.

mine is pretty good, they have t-shirts, sweaters, coats, pj's, slippers, mugs, and the other day I went in and they had silverware, cups, plates, etc. Plus more of course.

Both Disney stores that I visit don't have many adult items and also infant clothing which I was trying to find for my daughter.
I usually shop the catalog, internet site, or the Disney Auction.

It's been going in this direction for a while now. I talked to someone there about it a while back ago and she said they weren't even going to have collectibles pretty soon and it would just be kids stuff and videos. Last time we were there, we didn't even see any of the Disney World guide books.

Ha! That's too funny. I don't buy any videos there because they charge too much.

Our local one was going down for a long time as far as merchandise. For the last two or three years it was nothing but the three Ps. Pooh, Plush, and Princesses. Nothing for adults. I hadn't checked it out in a while so I stopped by last month and they were closed.

:( Haven't been to Indianaplois location yet, hope they have good selection of items.::yes:: :wave2:

The same thing that frustrates me about the store and the cataloge.

I have 2 DD's 8 and soon to be 7. The are both tall for their age and need either kids xlarge or womens x-small depending on the item.

Neither the stores or the catalog have itermediate/teen size clothing. Smaller kids, yes. The adult selection in the stores is also pretty bad.

Its a shame to see the stores being run as badly as the TV network and the movie branch. No wonder they can't turn a profit and why my stock is lagging. I used to love to go in there with the kids to buy all the presents they needed for a birthday party. My DW loves eyore pajamas. Now all you see are junk toys of the latest weak movie.

The stores are just a symptom of larger issues in the house of mouse.

Sorry for ranting but its a sore subject with me.
