Hello,

This is my first post and I have a question about the free dining plan. I am in the Navy on active duty and I am a Florida resident. My wife and I are planning a 8 day 7 night vacation from OCT 4-11.

Right now the discounts avaliable are:

Military Room Rate= 40% off Rack Rate
Florida Resident 7 day Ticket at Resident Rate

My question is if we book our room with the 40% off discount and buy our tickets using our Florida resident rate would we still be able to get the Free Dining Plan since we will be making a reservation for room and tickets and checking in by October 4th.

Thanks for any help

Daniel

The "free dining" package is rack rate. So no, you'd be giving up any room discounts. You can use a discounted ticket, but you do have to buy everyone in your party at least a base one day ticket. You'll need to figure out if you'll eat enough with the 'free' dining to justify giving up the discounted room rate. HTH

I am pretty sure that you have to pay rack rate on the room to book your package with the free dining plan. I could not even use a AAA discount for the room.

The code you should ask for is YMP and needs to be booked within the next few days before it expires. I'm not sure of the exact date but I know it's soon.

You only have to buy a 1-day ticket to consider it a package. I would do that and buy the remaining days using your Florida resident discount.

Good Luck!

Joanne

Discounts cannot be combined. This is why I gave up a cast discounted room (40% off) to book the free dining package. It would've been nice if we could have done both.

It will depend on where you're staying also. 40% off Pop Century is a lot less money per day that 40% off the Polynesian (for example)!

I love how people have figured out the best ways to take advantage of this package. I never would have thought of buying a 1 day ticket to get the package and then using an AP or discounted ticket for the savings! :flower:

nope I tried it and it can't be done. It's a package so you have to give up the rm discount. It worked out cheaper for me to just get the stars and stripes length of stay tickets at SOG. My kids aren't big on meals, they'd rather go all day on snacks and then yell how hungry they are when they get back to the rm at night. My best deal, for a group of 5, is first night at POR, 5 nights at SOG, last 2 nights at POR. That way I can use magic express. If you have a family of 4 or less it would be cheaper to use the 40% off then to stay at SOG. I'm debating getting the gold leaf plan at SOG which gives you 2 meals a day at SOG restaurants.

Disney is offering a special price for this deal for FL residents now. Call them and ask about it. It is $85 a night pp for tickets, food and room. So around $1,100 for 7 nights. I don't know your budget but this seems pretty good. ALSO if you may visit again do the package without a length of stay ticket, buy only and one day ticket and then purchase AP's or Seasons Passes, well worth it. Also there is information on disney.com, and then look for the FL resident section.

Forgot to add, you can use the 1 day ticket you have to buy to get the free dining package to credit towards your AP or SP purchase!
