Very cheap NYC flights

Ooooo, shiny prices! :faint:

That falls within the dates for my birthday. Now to decide whether I still want to go to DisneyLand Paris or whether going to New York would be more fun... :scratchin

So, is New York really as awesome as TV makes it out to be? :upsidedow

NYC is better than it looks on TV, everywhere you turn you feel like you are in a film set. DS was actually asked if he wanted to be on TV while walking around Central Park, he was only 8 and declined their offer.
Highlights for me were seeing DS's face when he saw the Statue of Liberty, he used to get a monthly mag about different city's in the world, NYC was the one he read over and over again. Seeing the Statue IRL was amazing for him(and us)
Another was seeing the real Winnie the Pooh characters that Christopher Milne played with in the NYC childrens library http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:The_original_Winnie_the_Pooh_toys.jpg

Steam coming out of the manhole covers, NYC taxi cabs, Empire state building, Old wooden escalator in Macy's, Times Sq, I could go on and on I just love the city.
I have absolutely no interest in going to DLP so it would be no contest for me NYC.:goodvibes

Have done New York and Paris this year. Much as I love Disney I would pick NYC over the Paris parks any day!!! BOOK!!!!

American Airlines have a sale on at the moment as well, ends on 9th Nov.

They fly into Miami.

New York! :cheer2: New York! :cheer2: New York! :cheer2:

Just saying what I would choose. If it were me. But it isn't.

Not trying to suggest what you should do.

Just saying .....

New York! :cheer2: New York! :cheer2: New York! :cheer2:

We've done new york and really liked it. It is so unbelievable that you are actually there. We did a bus and walking tour - I can still vividly remember alot of it now and it was several years ago.

You could also use it as a start of a nice tour around - we did new york as part of a 16 night trip and also did washington DC, amish country, niagra falls, civil war battlefields (DH's thing), lots of outlet malls (my thing!)

Tempting but I don't have much leave left for this year & i'm doing Florida & Boston next year. Hoping to slot in a trip to Vegas too if I can get the overtime at work:goodvibes

Okay I'm pretty much sold on NYC :thumbsup2

But it would have been my first visit to DLP and I have never been to Paris city before either.

I think the Statue of Liberty looks much more impressive than the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower is pretty much a glorified Blackpool Tower, no?! :rolleyes1

Not even close:rotfl2: the views for one are much better in Paris then Blackpool & the weather tends to better:thumbsup2

I love NYC & DLP so its up to you what you choose. I personally think DLP can be done anytime but getting a bargain for NYC would easily sway me

I love DLP (look at my signature!) but if you are able to take advantage of these great flight prices, I think you should go to New York.

I disagree but I do hold Paris very close to my heart. :cloud9:

If you are considering NYC then look at the whole package rather than just the flights. Its a fantastic city but hotels can be very expensive and the main reason we have not been back since 2002, 8 years ago and it cost me £150/night back then as we wanted a 4 or 5 star central hotel. We opted for the Crowne Plaze and got a room with one of the best views we have ever had, Times Sq & Empire State Building. The room and view partly made the 4 nights extra special.

Yeah, I've just been looking at hotel prices...:scared1:

And most of the hotels only allow 2 per room so we'd need 2 rooms, which makes it look unaffordable right now.

Oh well, maybe some other time...

We had no problem booking for 3 of us.

Phew, just checked this offer and thankfully for us flying direct what we've already booked is cheaper :thumbsup2 However, in-direct has a saving of nearly £200 which we were willing to do but at the time there wasn't much difference in price, ach well can't really complain as we have direct flights!

Yes, the hotels are expensive but I think the cost can be justified in some cases, when you consider location and view. We're staying at the New York Palace for the second time in April. We absolutely loved it last time.

Apartment rental is quite a cheaper option in manhattan

I've heard far too many horror stories that have put me off renting an apartment. Have you stayed in a reputable one?

I looked at hotels through booking.com. Not many of the hotels came up with rooms for 3 or with the option to add a third person.

When searching for a hotel use search engines that search multiple sites 1st, then narrow it down form there, its a far better way than searching just one supplier like Bookings.com who might not be good at 3-4 in a room or a particular destination like New York etc.
I always start with sites like :
Travelsupermarket.com
hotelscombined.com
hotelscomparison.com
