We have given my parents 5 nights at Vero in an Inn Room or Studio Room. We have never been to Vero so we are not sure which room would be a better choice for 60 and 62 year olds.

My Mom liked WDW,but Dad did not. They both like the beach so we figured Vero would be the best choice.

They are thinking September or October. Is there a better month?

Suggestions, comments, past trip reports anything would be helpful since we have not been to Vero ourselves.

I would reccomend an ocean view Inn room. They park their car right under the INN......use elevators to get to their room.....restraunts are in the INN.They wouldn't have to walk very far for anything.

Either month would be good. Most kids are back at school, and pool won't be crowded.

Here are a few links with pictures of VB...............

If you are shooting for a room with the view of the ocean, go for an Inn Room w/Ocean View. This way the view is guaranteed... If you go for a studio, there may or may not be a view of the ocean from the room.

Both rooms are approximately the same size... Inn Rooms have two queen beds, where a studio has a queen bed and a sleeper sofa.

Most of the resort facilities are attached to the Inn Building.... So if mobility is an issue, the Inn room may be the way to go....

September and October are popular months due to the sea turtle hatching, but the rooms are not impossible to get.

Vero is a great place to go and relax... The resort is laid back, and quite different than the hustle and bustle you normally get at WDW.

There are a few places to eat onsite.... Sonya's, Shutter's, the Green Cabin Room, and Bleachers.... Everything else is offsite off of A1A or US1... Captain Hirams and the Ocean Grill are popular.

I would recommend hamburgers in the Green Cabin Room out on the balcony. The view of the ocean cannot be beat.

The beach is great for walking, strolling, or sitting in a chair... Not the greatest for swimming though...

The pool is nice... There is also a sauna, hot tub, and a massage area...

Other activities include the Harbor Branch tour, Shuffleboard, Bike Riding, Tennis, Mini golf, nature tours, and astronomy... The CM's also put together a Weekly Itinary of scheduled activities so that all

For some of the best orange juice ever, have them stop by Hale's Orange Grove...

The CM's are nice and most are locals, and know the area EXTREMELY well... If your parents need any advice on where to get dinner, or on places to explore, the front desk has a big binder of all the local restaurants and activities...

We had initially reserved a studio, but DW decided she didn't like it so we went for an Inn Room and managed to get an ocean view room. My DW entered the room before the rest of the family, and the view literally took her breath away. Unless they canb guarantee an ocean view, be sure to reserve the ocaen view Inn room for your folks. They will be closer to what they are going to be interested in, and the view will be nothing short of spectacular.

Good luck

Pumkinboy,

Just wondering if you remember the room number or the floor you were on sounds like the view we are looking for!

We are leaving MA on Thursday and will be spending a long weekend in Vero before heading up to Disney.

Thanks for your help.

We have stayed in Inn room 2415(4th floor) and has a king size bed and a sofa. It is a corner room with a GREAT view of the ocean. ;)

Oceanview Inn Room -- High Floor (smoking or non-smoking, your choice). You will be the "favorite child". :)

As to September or October -- both run a slight risk of hurricane. However, there is always plenty of warning and the likelihood of it being a problem is akin to hitting a blizzard in Boston in January.

September can still be pretty darn hot in Florida -- October might be the better choice. I've been there in October and it was pretty wonderful.

Read up on what's available in Vero and/or let us know your parents' interests. There's lots to do in the Vero area that may appeal to your parents.

I concur with everything else that's been said, except I would prefer October over September. The average temperature is a little cooler in October, the rainfall is a little less in October, and there's less likely to be a hurricane in October, especially the latter part.

I agree that you should go for an High Floor Ocean Inn View Room - the only downside I can think of by going October instead of September is the shorter daytime period

VB is great

thanks

I don't remember the number, but it was on the 3rd floor at the northern end. It had two queens, which was great bcs we had the whole family of four. As long as it is an Ocean View inn room, it will be a breathtaking view.

Good idea going beforehand. Enjoy!

We were in 2409 a few weeks ago which is the northern most corner room on the top floor. We were under the sloping roof, but it didn't bother us. the balcony was really tiny, but that view was absolutely breathtaking!! We also had a side window which overlooked the pool. We checked in very late at night (around 11) and I was told we were the *last* people to make the resort at 100% capacity, so I was truly thrilled to get this fabulous view!

I'm checking in with a different slant on things. DH falls asleep when he watches TV from a bed. So, we rented movies and he was falling asleep at 9PM. We got lots and lots of sleep on our VB vacation, and we've decided when we go again, it's going to be in a studio because of the sofa, or more, likely a 1 bedroom.

Bobbi:D

until we get to the point of no longer fitting, we will always do an ocean view Inn room at VB. 4th floor is the best, and the laundry room is on that floor also. We did a studio once, my dd refers to it as the vacation we slept in a closet!!!
