Hi!

My friend's husband will HOPEFULLY be returning from the Gulf War 2 within the next several weeks. He's been gone for much of the past 15 months (heavily involved in the Afghanistan stuff after 9-11 as well as prep before and during this war). Anyway, they have 4 kids and could use a family vacation.

I'm thinking about giving them 3 days at Vero this summer (if I can even get in) as a Thanks present for everything this guy does for the rest of us.

I know NOTHING about Vero and have a few questions...

The wife is really wanting a relaxing vacation. Does Vero fit the bill?

Do they offer fun activities for the family like they do at HH?

Do they do that Sea Turtle thing during the summer and do you sign up while you are there?

Would kids 5-10 have fun there?

Would it be ungodly hot in june?

Any thoughts, opinions, advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think Vero is the perfect mix of relaxation yet enough activity to keep everyone happy.

The pool is wonderful. We LOVE the beach.

They have
-mini golf
-arcade
-scheduled activities every day like crafts, balloon toss, pool games, treasure hunts and much more.
-there is a good mixture for older and younger children
-good snack bar by the pool
-a lot of Disney themed things at the gift shop, restaurants, etc. so it still gives you that Disney feeling
-you can rent bikes, go on waverunner tours
-they have campfires in the evening where you make s'mores

You can do as much as you want or as little as you want. There have been times when we have been there for a week without doing any of the scheduled activities and just did the pool and beach.

I think Vero would be the perfect place for them. They wouldn't feel pressured to fit in all the them parks like if they were right in Orlando. They will get to relax and have enough Disney magic to keep them happy.

The restaurants at the resort are nice. They can also buy some groceries for the room.

What a nice thing to do.

floridafam is right on the money.

We were there in Feb for 5 days and had a GREAT time. VERY relaxing, with lots of fun stuff for 5-10 crowd(ours are 10 & 7) . They have a super bike trail and the
slide is a blast, even got my dad 72 to take the slide. We found a few good places to eat, PM me if you would like details or have any other ??. What a great thing you are doing.
