I was getting ready to book my 1st trip to Vero, but I was wondering which would be better the studio or the ocean view inn room?

We really prefer the OV Inn Room - higher up in the building the better. Really nice sized rooms.

Just my two cents. :thumbsup2

We too! We booked a studio last March because DH wanted to try a room there that had a sofa and not 2 Q's. We had a nice time, but all of our future stays will be in an OVIR....well, we have a BC for June 22nd.

We have stayed in both and would go back to an Inn room before a studio.

If you go with an Inn room, be sure to request an Ocean View room with a FULL-ON ocean view. At first we were given a room overlooking the pool area with a view of the ocean off the side from the balcony. We went back to the front desk and were told we would need to wait for another ocean view room. We waited a couple of hours and were very happy that we did.

The balcony on the studio that we had did not give any type of ocean view.

I don't recall ever hearing anyone who preferred a studio to an Inn room. The only reasons to do so would be if you were going from a studio to a 2 BR L/O or vice versa or if you simply wanted the love seat and didn't need the extra bed. Most of the studios don't have much or any view so may as well get in the lodge and have a chance at a better view or save a few points.

ocean view inn- all the amenities of a studio - with 2 beds instead of one (nice for our two teen DDs) AND an ocean view. can't beat it.

Yep... I think these are pretty much the only reasons one might want a studio.

An inn rm with an ocean view is the way to go. Not only is the view great but it's nice to be right in the main building.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking the Inn Room would be the best, hopefully I can get one with a great view :goodvibes

Not to be a lone wolf in the crowd, but with 2 small kids we kind of liked the studio. We were in building 4 and close to the pool, parking, laundry etc.

Have to admit the pull-out sofa was not up to the standards of BCV or SSR, but my 3 year old didn't care.

If just me and DW were going I would stay in the Inn, but with kids I liked the Studio.

This is what makes this world great. We felt the exact opposite. Last time we went we had a six month old, and a 4.5 yr old. We thought being in the Inn was so much better. Closer to the store, resturants, lobby, cartoon playing TV in lobby, and Green Cabin Room. :hippie:

When you get there be sure to tell them you want an ocean FACING room. :)

Thanks so much for the tip. I will be sure to ask for that.

BCSMOM - Inn room is by far better. :woohoo:

I am so excited, I can not wait to see what it is like at Vero!! Ever since we bought into DVC, I have wanted to go there.

That is a great point! I love being close to the restaurants. We will have a 4 yr old, & the quicker we can get to food the better ;) . Do they have refillable mugs at vero?

I just booked 6 nights in a Studio for the middle of August. The DVC reservations person who assisted me, volunteered, when I asked about views/floors, etc, that there were a few Studios with an ocean view. I have never been to Vero Beach, so is this really true? If so, where are they and should I be more specific on my reservation? If there aren't rooms with an ocean view, what would the experts recommend that I request. My only real issue is that I don't want to be on the first floor.

I know that the OVIR's have the best view, but as a solo traveler, I prefer having the sofa. I think having two beds will make it seem more like a hotel room, but I can certainly understand why families would prefer this option.

Yes. And you get to refill your own mug at a station separate from the food line. Just gets better doesn't it?

Yes it does seem to get better, except the fact that the room is gone now

I called like 2 weeks ago to check my dates for my special birthday 08/08/08. Well the room is gone now, so now I have to make alternate plans. So we will have to try Vero another time. I think we may add a stay to our May 2009 trip to Disney. I am sure it is to late to do it for this trip. I guess that is a lesson learned, I should have booked when I called instead of thinking so much :goodvibes
