We will be spending 2 nights 3 days at Disney Vero Beach. Does anyone have suggestions or information? This will wind up our 7 day WDW vacation.

We have been there several times! The resort is so nice. It has a very "homey" feel to it. There are a group of little shops just south of the resort that are interesting , plus I do believe that Vero has an outlet center although I have never been there. There is a nice gift shop in the resort too.

There is usually a campfire night, start gazing, turtle expedition and all sorts of activities.
The rooms are huge! Lots of extra space with a kitchenette.

What a BEAUTIFUL PLACE!

There is SO much to do in/around Disney's VERO BEACH resort! Here's some of the shopping info. All are close, and easy to locate with a map from the front desk. It's a GREAT PLACE to unwind, and one of our absolute FAV seaside resorts!

Sonja's, Shutters and Bleachers are all great places to dine. Take a bike and ride through the tunnel to the little pond on the other side of A1A, there are some nice places to relax over there (listen to the Disney music inside the tunnel!). Also, mini-golf is always worth a laugh or two. Hope you enjoy this resort...we are looking forward to another week there this summer.

Enjoy historic downtown Vero Beach

From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the last Friday of the month, the festival is on 14th Avenue between 20th and 21st streets. Downtown Vero Beach, generally considered to be the older section of downtown running from Commerce Avenue through 17th Avenue, includes a restored theater that houses apartments, shops and Nature's Way Restaurant; the old courthouse, which is used for conferences and parties; and the Pocahontas Building with shops and a karate studio. The Heritage House has an oak dance floor and the community center houses a variety of functions. BJ's Rainbow Garden is renowned for its orchids.

*Prime Outlets provide brand-name shopping

Prime Outlets at Vero Beach tout larger stores and better prices than the typical mall.

Located just west of Interstate 95 at exit 68, the mall offers a variety of items, from housewares to clothes, said Donald Darko, general manager of the mall.
"What we have here is stores that are owned and operated by the manufacturers themselves," Darko said.

That means lower prices and a bigger selection of products under certain brand names.

The mix of brand-name stores include Ann Taylor, the Bombay Company, Polo, Lenox, Samsonite and Versace, the latter of which is one of two in the state. A food court features Subway sandwiches, Giovanni's pizza and treats from TCBY.

The outlet stores are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The address is 1824 94th Drive. For more information, call (561) 770-6171.

More than 70 specialty stores and four department stores offer lots of choices.

The Indian River Mall in Vero Beach is home to four department stores and more than 70 specialty stores.

According to their parent company's Web site, the 748,000-square-foot mall hosts Dillard's, Burdines, Sears and JC Penney. The smaller stores lining the corridors that feed into the anchor stores include Brookstone, Casual Corner, Talbots, the Gap and Victoria's Secret.

Also housed in the mall are restaurants such as T.G.I. Friday's and Guytano's Italian Bistro. The AMC Indian River 24 Theater offers stadium seating to movie-goers.

Indian River Mall is located off State Road 60 between Interstate 95 and U.S. 1 in Vero Beach.

My mother lives in Vero Beach, and my son and I have visited several times. There is an absolutely wonderful children's bookstore in downtown Vero Beach -- can't think of the name but I'm sure the front desk will know it -- which has toys, books, games, educational things; it's a good place to go if it's raining. We always eat at Mr. Manatee, which is great, especially with kids.

I have considered taking my son to stay at Disney's Vero Beach resort for a few days for a change of pace from the old folk's apartment complex where my mom lives -- Expedia prices it at about $200 a night -- does anyone know if they ever give discounts or special deals? Thanks!

go to dvc.disney.go.com adn they have a magical offers link. Try there. We did it 2 years ago and stayed at Hilton Head in a 2 bedroom or $99.00 a night!!!! They have great deals there all of the time. You usually get one of the larger rooms too.

We (DH, myself, and 7 year old DD) will be at VB for 2 nights. Can anyone recommend rooms that I should request. I believe we have a garden view studio.

Does anyone know the fees associated with the activities or can you recommend activities? We will have just spent 7 days at WDW before coming to VB.

I was at Vero Beach last week for 2 days. LOVED it. They have activities planned all day sort of like on a cruise ship. Most have no fee. Golf is $2 for non DVC'ers, $1 for DVC'ers.

Pool was great. The entire place is so relaxing. We had a inn room with ocean view. Very nice.

If you like italian food, I recommend Italian Grill...it's in a shopping center and the front desk can give directions. Small place, but great food. Yum !
