Vero Beach

Hi all!

We are heading down to Vero Beach in 11 days, for Memorial Day Weekend. This will be our first trip to Vero. This will be a little "us" trip, no kids. Is there anything I can do or arrange at the resort to make it more special?

I am not sure what time of year the turtles nest. We went in July several years ago and signed up to see the turtles nest at night. When we went you can either go into the drawing at the resort (limited space so they draw room numbers to see who goes for free) to do it or you can call the resort and get the number for the organization and pay them. If I recall it was only around $10 per person. Space fills up very fast so I would call asap.

I think you have pretty much made the necessary arrangements for a special time.

Just take is slow and easy. Maybe a Margarita a little earlier than if kids were there. Maybe evening or moonlight walks in the wash of the waves. Maybe a little room service...

Just got back from Vero. Very nice time. I recommend going to Capt. HIrams in Sebastian and also The Riverside Cafe in Vero. Both nice places for dinner. The Riverside has a very nice sunset view and Happy Hour from 4- 7. Vero is a very nice beach resort, but not very active. Golf at Aquirina or Port St. Lucie is very nice. Have a great time, but watch out for rip tides.

massage? gift basket in the room? quiet romantic dinner packed in a picnic basket on the beach - or breakfast on teh beach while the sun rises

we did a moonlit walk around midnight. Full moon, had the beach to ourselves.

They have some great wines!

Charter a boat?

Capt Hirams I heard good things about. We went a few more feet down the road to Squid Lips... not romantic.. but a blast when they have a band!
