Vero Beach View Advice Wanted

My wife, myself, and my 7 year old daughter will be staying for one night at Vero Beach, at the end of a one-week stay at the Beach Club in a one bedroom.

My question is, we would really like a view of the ocean for this one night. The whole purpose of going over there is to enjoy the ocean (plus we obtained a much better deal on the airfare by staying an extra night.)

I have read, at other places on the DIS that many/most/all of the one bedrooms have a good ocean view. I have also read that some of the inn room ocean views are not that great of a view. I think we would be fine with the hotel type room, if it had a nice view. If we were not going to get a view, I would just asoon have the one bedroom.

Keep in mind that we are only going to be there one night - from probably about noon to noon on a Sunday night/Monday.

Also, does their exist a map of room locations, as I have seen for the Beach Club? This might give us an idea of where the one bedrooms are located.

Thanks for any help :rolleyes1

You've got it backwards. Only a couple of the 1 bedrooms have a good ocean view. We had one on one trip and it was on the 3rd floor. I don't remember the building number. Many more of the Inn rooms have the view. The only room types you can be sure of the ocean view are the 3 bedroom Beach cottages - that's probably a little overkill for your trip.

At any rate, any view is just a request. You may or may not get, greatly depending on how full it is and which rooms checked out before you got there.

I agree with mikesmom - reserve the Ocean view room.

If by some chance you don't get the "ideal" view from your room, just go the deck outside of the Green Cabin Room - you'll have a great view. And FWIW, you'll have only a few steps to get to the beach. Doesn't sound like you want to be in the room much, anyway!

Best wishes -

The 1BR we had last fall didn't have any view of the ocean.

If you decide for an Ocean View room in the Inn then be sure to ask them to note "top floor room requested" on your reservation. There's no guarantee you'll get the top floor, but it's definitely worth asking.

The last time we were at Vero Beach we reserved an ocean view room at the Inn. We ended up getting a room on the side of the building that appeared to mainly have a view of the pool, with the ocean behind it (rather than a room facing the ocean directly).

However, this view ended up being great. We got the benefits of an ocean view and the pool view combined. Here's a pic of sunrise from our room balcony (the pool is in the foreground and I zoomed a bit for the picture):
