Vero Beach - Very Bad Start

Try Captain Doug Moss (772-589-2329) for a lunch cruise. He's located down near Captain Hiram's (which is a great place for dinner). Doug is better than a pontoon boat.

Keep on smiling fellow PAer.

Sorry. I truly feel for you.

We absolutely love VB and it feels bad to know bad things are happening to you.

Of all the times we have been there we have never used the grills and probably never will. It's more of a personal choice. I like to eat in the restaurants at VB and don't want to do any cooking. I do, however, think that we would be more likely to grill at HH.

Be happy. Enjoy a nice meal at Shutters or Sonya's. Play checkers in the green cabin room and enjoy a drink. Go down the slide at the pool-you'll love it. Wear DEET to protect yourselves from the no see ums and take in the campfire.

I hope your luck changes and that you give VB a second chance if you decide to go back in the future.

The first time I went they didn't have grills. We had put in a request to be near the grills because we assumed they would have them. I even put in my email that I assumed they had grills and got an affirmative back from the person that replied. About a week and a half before I was to go I was just reconfriming everything and tha'ts when I was told no grills. I and they had all the emails to document they were at fault.

They were wonderful. It was not an option to use a mini grill due to fire rules. We had bought ribeye and NY strip for 9 people for 2 meals. They first offered to take the steaks and grill them and return them. I declined because the timing is everything with grilling. They ended up offering us a free meal for the group at Shutters which we acccepted. They were very gracious. The manager kept coming by and made sure everything was perfect. Then at the end he vanished. The server said all was taken care of but I needed some idea of how much to leave for a tip though I could count up somewhat in my head. The manager came by again when requested and said the tip was taken care of also. I left some additonal but couldn't have been happier with DVC's recovery.

I'd like to know what's up with housekeeping? My family stayed at VB in 2001 in Inn Rooms (they are not owners, nor was I at the time) and they hardly ever had their room made up before 4:00pm. One day they even refused housekeeping because they were settled back in their room and didn't want to be disturbed.
