Was wondering if most only stay for 5 days or does anyone also include a weekend day in their reservation? If so, are the beaches more croweded say on a Friday? Anything different with the resort over the weekend than during the week?

The character breakfast is only offered on the weekend (Saturday I think?) and there's a Sunday brunch.

We were there over the weekend last year, and are paying cash for Friday and Saturday night (member's discount $$ go further at VB than at WDW - but maybe I should not share that secret....) I did not notice a change in crowds from weekend to weekday, but there was a wedding going on the Saturday we were there.

Last year we stayed 5 nights and I think it was the maximum for my kids. They got sun and swimmed-out (I, on the other hand, could have chilled out for a month).

As far as the fear of too many locals coming in on the weekends... There is very limited public access around the resort.... there is a public beach adjoining the property to the north.... but there is very little parking, so you just won't find that many locals there.

Besides.... the east coast - in that area, at least - does such a wonderful job with its parks... there are parks every couple of miles, it seems - some with very nice facilities.... so the locals really seem to spread out.

...It's nothing like we experience at the more popular beaches over here on the west coast. :( Those crowds can just be overwhelming...

There's almost always room on the beaches... Even during the weekends... The pool on the other hand...

We've never had a problem with finding pool chairs - and we don't wake early to stake a claim. We've been to Vero in early June and late July/early August.

Hi,
We always stay over weekends. The pool and beach is fine, not too crowded. Their is a DJ and pool games on the weekend that my daughter LOVES! Waterslide races, tug of war, dancing, lots of music & loads of fun! We will be there at the end of April...:thumbsup2

We usually do not have too big of a problem during the June/July timeframe... The only major complaint I would have are the folks that try to reserve tables with towels with the early morning stalk, and then never come back to use them.. :rolleyes1 That though is true at every resort, and not exclusive to VB. ;)

3 years ago we went for the first time for just 2 nights, the last 2 years we have gone for 5 nights each time. Now this year we are going all out and staying for 10 nights, the way I look at it, it will only be 50¢ a day for mini golf.

I have to agree about the beach never being that crowded, we noticed that the only place that is really busy is right by the stairs going up to the resort.

Tom

Beth... I think you have something here.... although the beaches more to the north on the east coast also have overwhelming crowds... Myrtle Beach, Ocean City, etc.... Seems Florida is pretty nice...
