Vero Beach Summer Availability

The big availability thread doesn't include Vero Beach. We like to travel for 10 days in the summer to WDW. My gameplan would be to do 7 days at WDW followed by 3 days at Vero to relax after a long trip. Trips would be 3 out of every 4 years in studios. Contemplating a couple of options.

1) 150 points at SSR. Using the availability calendar, it seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to sleep around at the time of year we travel in the better view studios with this many points. Not sure what the availability would be at VB though.

2) 75 Points at SSR & 75 points at VB. Similar thought process as above, except this would "guarantee" us a studio at VB. Although there would be higher dues, we may benefit buy buying the 75 VB points direct and getting the membership card. The spread on small contract VB doesn't seem to be as large at quick glance. A third benefit to this idea would be that this contract expires in 2042. This would line up well with retirement, kids leaving the house, and when we would more likely slow down our WDW travel game.

I have no idea the typical availability, but as of now every night in every room type is available for all of May, June and what's open so far in July (i.e. nothing is gone at the 9-11 month mark- even for Memorial Day and 4th of July). Not sure if that will hold up for another 2-3 months until the 7 month window opens, but seems like a decent shot.

I'm not sure how availability is over the summer for cash booking at Vero but it can be an incredible deal- better than using points. I recently booked a 2 bedroom over Thanksgiving for $380 a night! That would have cost 42 points a night, meaning I basically paid $9 per point for the room which is less than the maintenance fee alone. This was using the DVC cash room discount, which you get even as a resale member.
