We've only done Shutters breakfast in the past. I want to say I've read not such great things about dining onsite advising to drive elsewhere to eat, but not lately, so maybe it improved?

Considering Shutters for lunch and Sonya's for dinner. Any particular recomendations on entrees or those to steer clear of based on dining experiences in the last year? Thanks!

I've eaten at both during the past year and been quite happy with the experiences. I recall that in sonya's I had chicken with a cirtus 'treatment' that I enjoyed.

hi
just come back from vero beach, we ate at shutters in the evening and the food was fine. even the burger at the pool bar was an "i must have that again"! i certainly wouldn't waste precious holiday time driving down into vero to eat!

Thanks for the info! Do I need reservations ahead of time for Sonya's dinner?

For another night we may put the kids in Kids Club and go offsite to try Ocean Grille. Does that program still run 5pm-8pm?

Not a bad idea - seating is pretty limited - so to make sure you don't have to wait, and ADR maybe a smart move.

We ate at the casual restaurant one night. I can't remember which it was. I had the grouper and it was awful. We didn't eat there again. Try Pomodoro's in Vero. Amazing pasta. For more casual food go to Squid Lips. GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

They don't advertise this, but you can get carry-out from either. We're not sit down restaurant types and we will call down our order and pick it up in about 20 minutes.

The portions are big enough for 2 people so you can order 1 for 2, cut your order cost in half, save the waiter tipping and have a real nice meal in your room without the cooking hassle or the crowd noise. :thumbsup2

Another great Italian place is Tia Amo - ask the CM's behind the front desk - there is a book of restaurant referrals.

Tia Amo was great!!! We had a wonderful casual Italian meal there back in early September.

We love Shutter's and have been there several times...

I used to love when Sonya's had the Italian buffet, and am kinda bummed that they switched over to seafood.. Sonya's we only usually hit once per trip though.. (Though the CM's are great with kids..)

We ate at Sonja's and Shutter's this past August. Loved the atmosphere at Sonja's and the waittress. Food was very good, as good as Ocean Grill, better atmosphere if you like intimate romantic dining. The following night we ate at Shutters, good food and the same waittress from the night before at Sonja's. We were a party of six, she remembered all of the drinks we ordered the night before...even my DH quirky changes to his manhattan, needless to say we were very impressed. If you go to Sonja's request a booth, more intimate. Captain Hiram's was a bit of a disappointment... too many used napkins on the floor, felt dirty. We went to Carrabas (chain restaurant) but excellent. So many choices, I know you'll have a great time.
