Hi all.

We're heading to Vero the end of June to try it out. When we are at the beach, we like to watch old movies (after we come back to the room for sun and heat relief). How's the cable programming at Vero? Do they have AMC, TCM, etc.? I heard the Inn rooms and studios have VCRs - is this true?

Thanks.

I don't have the exact line up-they have a copy in the rooms but they have lot of cable channels.

It is Comcast-you may be able to find a channel line-up on their website.

I know they have Nickelodeon-my kids love this and always want to watch it at WDW and can't.

Yes, they do have VCR's. We always have one in our inn room and my MIL had one in her studio.

Have fun.

You're right... Unlike the studios in the WDW properties - the Inn Rooms "do" have VCR's (or maybe just VCP's). I can't confirm the studios - we've only stayed in the Inn Rooms, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had them, also.

We always figured the reason they had them was to play the DVC promotional tape that was left in each room... Somehow, that little tape always seemed to make its way into my suitcase before I left... :)

As far as the programming - I'm not sure about a movie channel, though I "can" tell you that the programming isn't exactly the same as it is at WDW. I remember specifically that VB got Fox News Channel, while the WDW properties do not...

Like all DVC properties, though, you can rent VHS movies there on site. (No cost to members)

Have a great trip!

I can't recall the line-up offhand but chances are better you'll get the non-Disney channels at Vero. Disney runs it's own cable/satellite service at WDW. (Ever notice you basically only get cable channels that Disney owns is or is part owner?) at Vero you're getting the same service as the folks who live in the area.

There are VCRs in the Vero Inn rooms also. I think the VCRs are there since there is less to do at the resort at night and on rainy days than there is at WDW.

Thanks for the replies!

It makes sense that they would expand the cable a little compared to Disneyworld and that they would have the VCRs in all the rooms since you don't have Disney parks to go to. We always like to watch old movies on a beach vacation in the evening or when we've had too much sun.

We're really excited about trying Vero out for the first time. I'll be sure to give a report when we get back.

We haven't seen the ocean since summer 2001 on a Maui vacation. I know it won't look like Maui water, but I'm excited to see the Atlantic side. I've been to the gulf area of Florida many times, but never the Atlantic side.

Have a great time!!

You shouldn't have any problems with the channel lineup... Like the previous posters have stated... There's more selection that WDW... And there's always borrowing movies to watch from the store..

If it were me, I would call the resort and have them fax you a channel listing...
