:sunny: We were seriously thinking about spending a week in June 2005 at Vero Beach! :sunny: Is there enough to do there for a 14 year old, and a couple of sticks in the mud? :sunny:
:wave2: What are my chances of getting a studio at the 7 month window? :wave2:
:earsboy: Besides being off site, are there many drawbacks to staying there? :earsboy:

Hi, 1SickPupe. My wife and I absolutely adore the Vero Beach Resort! :D It is a nice change just love to relax without the hustle and bustle of WDW (although we love WDW too!).
As far as 14 year olds, I just can't say. My wife and I are kidless (although we are trying), so I am not an expert on that. If they like to hang out on the beach or pool all day, then I would guess it would be a good place for them.

Most folks here enjoy VB, but I have heard a few say that it is too slow for them... especially for a full week with teenagers.

Good luck...

I love VB and will return there in two months for Spring Break. However, my 18 year old can't be convinced to go with me. He went once when he was 14, and he didn't enjoy it. Just not enough action for a kid who doesn't enjoy the beach. I love the slower, quieter pace myself. Maybe if he had had a friend with him it would have helped. One poster a while back said her teens refer to it as "Zero Beach". LOL! All that said, if your 14 year old is a beach/pool lover, I think it would be fine.

You won't know about the 7 month window until you call. But since you are going in June you should have a decent chance.

I would suggest for your 1st trip to VB to do a combo trip with your 14 yr old. Maybe 3 days at VB then head up to WDW for 4 days. This way you will only be 25 minutes from the airport on your return home.

We have gone to Vero for the last 5 summers with our teens, now 14 and 18. It is a quiet place and there really isn't too much action on site. My girls absolutely love it and they will not allow us to book at WDW trip without a journey to Vero along with it. If he likes the beach and the pool and a layed back, sleep late, hang out type of vacation, then he should have a great time. If he is looking for a lot of action, then he might be bored a bit. Then again, if the right people are also staying at that time, he could have a great time. I agree with the above poster, make it a short trip to try it out.
