We are thinking about going to Vero Beach in March and was wondering if anyone had been at this time and what kind of activities there were. Is the water at the beach too cold for swimming and are ther any activities close by or at the lodge that would provide entertainment for young children (10 and 4)? Thanks for any input.

The resort has an active children's program year-round.

In March, the ocean will be in the upper 60's-low 70's. Your personal comfort level will determine whether that's warm enough to enjoy! The pool is heated however!

Enjoy!

FYI -- While Disney and Disney's Vero Beach resort enjoy year-round popularity as tourists destinations, Florida and Vero Beach remain primarily popular as winter vacation destinations. March is THE month in terms of toursit popularity for the area. All the "snowbirds" will be in residence. Vero Beach is laid back enough that they don't suffer real traffic jams, but you may find lots of events and activities happening in the surrounding area as well during this time. Sometimes they have events in the downtown area and they book shows at the theater in Vero.

If I have my months right, March is probably a real crowded time in Vero due to Dodger's training camp. DH is a Dodger nut and that's why we bought Vero, to have home advantage for that time of year.

Last March I went to VB for my Spring break. The weather was perfect! Not to cold at all. It was not as crowded as I would have thought...we had not problem making ressies at Shutters and Sonyas. At the time I was not a DVC owner, but just last week I made the purchase at VB...It was a perfect vacation in every aspect

We went to VB March 24-29 (week b/4 Easter) this year and the ocean tempurature was great. I didn't think it was cold at all. My son (14 at the time) and I preferred the ocean to the pool because the pool was crowded. There are plenty of activities for the children though. My other son (10) was kept very busy with all the programming Disney has. My husband took the kids to a Dodgers game too. They had a great time seeing famous baseball people close up, Sandy Koufax in the stands, Tommy Lasorta riding by them in a golf cart, and other names I don't remember.

Thanks for all the comments. Now I wonder what the odds are of getting a one bedroom inthe 7 month window.:p :p
