Vero Beach in August

We are thinking of trying the VB resort next summer. How is the weather there in August? We would have to wait until 7 months to book- is it as hard as HH to get in? TIA

I would also like to know how hard it is to get during the last couple of weeks of August - but we would want to either get like 4 studio / Inn Rooms or (2) 2 bedroom units...

We were there in August 06. No problems booking at 7. I think VB peaks in spring and fall and wanes a bit in the heat of summer. It was a bit hot on our stay. Be sure to wear sandles or flops, otherwise the concrete or sand with scorch your feet.

I did not feel Florida was hot at all in August. That could be because I am in Oklahoma where the temps in Aug are 100++ usually.

We are going this August and I was able to book 2 ocean view studios with no problem at 5 months out. The beach is not as hot as inland (Orlando) sections due to a mostly "on-shore" breeze. Of course I am a native (stuck in Ohio) so I think anything below 80 is chilly!

We used to vacation at Sanibel in July and it was great. You do get the breeze which makes it cooler and sunburn not as noticable until you look in the mirror.

We've gone to VB the past three Augusts....be prepared for rain in the afternoon and the noseeums (worse than mosquitoes because you noseeum).
The resort is gorgeous but literally nothing to do in the area. If you like relaxing this is the place to go.

The resort is very relaxing. I have been there twice in July (2006 & 2007) which was tough to book. Looks like from other comments that August is easier. Beautiful resort but the noseeums are brutal.

new member here! My wife and I booked our first points at VB this morning for 8/1-8/2 and was only able to get the ocean view for friday and garden view for saturday. We are waitlisted to stay in the ocean view the second night. I'm not sure if we'll get it :\
