Vero Beach Christmas Week

We changed our plans and are spending one night at Vero Beach on the way to my in-laws. We will check-in on the Dec 22. Can anyone tell me if there are any special activities for the little ones(DDs 6 and 2) during this week, what the weather is like, and is there any character dining available? I am really excited because we haven't stayed at VB before. Thanks for any information or suggestions.

We have been to Vero in December twice. I have a picture of myself 8 months pregnant next to the huge Christmas tree in the lobby, and then another one with the baby a year later. It's a beautiful resort. When we went, the weather was in the low 70s. We wore a windbreaker sometimes, shorts other times. The kids did go in the pool in the afternoon. There are different activities scheduled all the time- I would call the resort and ask what's being offered that week in case you'd like to sign up for anything, depending on the ages of those in your party. There is a character breakfast on certain days.

I think Wednesday might be the day they have the unbirthday party- your 6 yr. old would like that! Also a mini-putt putt. There is (unless the hurricane damaged it) a beautiful lawn area (like the green on a golf course) for bocce, croquet, etc. that would be nice for your baby to play ball on. It's right outside the lobby as you exit toward the beach.
