Vero Beach - Beach Update?

bump....they were supposed to have done some beach resotration over the early spring, but I'm not sure that it happened.

We were there for the first time two weeks ago. The beach seemed completely fine, but I guess I would not know any different since I had never been there before. I did notice a 'cliff' about 5 of 6 feet tall at the edge or closer to the walkway. I guess that is the sand wall you are talking about. By the way, we LOVED Vero Beach!

The 'cliff' was still there the last week in April. We were there in a beach cottage for four days and had a terrific time.

They had done the restoration earlier (last summer, you had to jump to get from the beach to the bottom stair, but that seems to have been fixed). And, the beach was fine when I was there the first week in April. From what I understand, the erosion creating the "wall" occurred either the week after I was there, or the week after that. :sad1:

I just got back from VB yesterday and while the "wall" is still there, it's not too bad. When you walk down the resort's main walkway to the beach it is to the right and runs for about half the length of a football field. To the left of the bottom of the walkway it is much more level.

When we were there it was so windy that very few people spent long periods of time at the beach. Beyond dipping their toes in the surf, I didn't see a single soul braving a swim in the rough water.
