We are hoping to book a two week stay at the beginning of September at Vero Beach and just wondered :

(1) is the resort normally busy at this time?

(2) whether there are beds/chairs provided FOC or whether we have to hire them? and

(3) what's the weather generally like?

Thanking you all in advance.

You are accepting a risk of hurricanes by going at this time. We were in Vero in late August when Katrina hit the Miami area and we had hard rains and intense surf. The people who surf were out in force! We were only there for 2 nights and the day we left was bright and sunshiny, so in a 2 week period your weather may be all over the scale.

We had no beach days, but there was a Disboard beach chair exchange this past summer, and maybe one will happen again. The beach equipment is on a rental basis, and you may be better of buying things at Walmart, and then leaving it buy a dumpster or giving/selling it to someone as you leave.

We had a very nice time, in spite of the weather. We played mini golf, and we rode bikes and there were activities for the 11 year old who was with us. It did not rain all of the time!

Our best Vero Beach weather has been in May. The other month we have been there has been March, and we hit off shore nor'easters or some sort of intense storms for a week. That year we also went south to Key Largo and the seas there were also bad down there, small craft advisories, not the snorkeling weather that I had hoped for.
