I know this has probably been discussed on these boards before, but I feel I must give some advice. If you will be visiting VB during the warmer months, please (oh please!) be aware of the "no-see-um" midge bugs. They are tiny insects that can barely be seen that come out mostly around sunset.

I had heard about them and had taken Off! for Kids and sprayed the whole family before we went out. Well, it worked for my youngest but for some reason it did not work at all for DH and I and worked only a little for my 9 year old.

DH and I each have literally hundreds of bites on our legs and arms. 9 year old got about a few dozen or so before she went in early.

The next day, we asked at the front desk and they told us that the Off for Kids doesn't work too well and that we should get the Off in the green can with DEET in it, but to be careful with the kids. We used that or the rest of the trip and didn't get any more bites, thank God (used green can on kids' legs, and had them wear long sleeves...washed it off when we got back in room).

This was about a week ago...we are now in WDW and the bites DH and I got itch like crazy and the look is NOT a pretty one in bathing suits and shorts. We feel like these bites are never going to go away.

So, if you go to Vero (which I highly recommend), make sure you stock up on the green can Off! and use it whenever you go out in the evening. If I can help one family with this post, I'll be happy!

Thanks for the advice...we leave on Sunday!! I was going to take "skintastic" by Off, but now will go get green can!
How is the water temp? Any shark sightings?

Poohstx, no shark sightings and the water temp was wonderfully warm! Enjoy yourself...we had a great time (except for buggies!)
