VERO BEACH 2016 Information & Adoration Thread

Can you tell us where you heard this? There seems to be a lot of confusion.
I received a call Friday from the front desk manger. She left a voice mail on my phone stating that the Pirate dinner was ending (i was told June 13th). I am on a Facebook group for the resort and there was quite a bit of confusion there also so I called 3 more times and got the same answer each time.

Thanks!

I received a call today from member services stating that my dinner at Shutters scheduled for Monday July 25th is being moved to a banquet room. Also there will be no characters at dinner but there will be characters though out the resort. She couldn't elaborate on that. She stated the menu would be the same. I'm not sure if that means there will still be a family style dinner served or the regular menu. :confused3

I got that same call today for my early August reservation. I'm a bit disappointed because we planned the trip around the Monday pirate dinner since it was different than anything on WDW property.

We're booked for the end of Sept at Vero for our anniversary. Any news on what closures will still be going on then?

Also, does anyone remember how much the ice cream cones from Bleachers cost? My kids are planning their budget :)

Floors 2 and 3 are done. Last week they were still working on the 4th floor. Not sure if it's done now or not.
Checked in today and the 4th floor is not back in the inventory yet. I know they want to open it back up to members and guests as soon as possible.

Hey everyone! Just wondering.... What car rental company do you use if you're arriving at MCO and then driving to Disney after Vero? I read that Alamo is the official rental company of Disney. You can drop off your car at Swan and Dolphin...which would make it easy since we're staying at Beach Club. However, Alamo seems a bit more expensive. Thanks! April

There is also the Car Care Center that's also located on property. It's both Alamo and National (same goes for the Swan and Dolphin counter).

Any recent visitors recall the kids activities and the day of the week for Member Golf?

We just got home May 10 from a 4 night stay. Member Golf is on Thursdays. They were working on one of the holes when we were there, so it was always free. Nice gesture considering we did not even know they were working on it. :)
My kids loved the family glow putt putt.

We will be there mid September and wondering about closures as well. Just called to add the Character breakfast at Shutters on September 17th and the CM did not have any information other that telling me that the system allowed her to make the reso?? Fingers crossed that Shutters will be back open by then.

For those renting a car....as of right now we're arriving at MCO on Sept 14th, driving to Vero Beach and staying until the 17th, leaving the 17 for Animal Kingdom Villas (Savanna View) for 2 nights and then 5 nights at Beach Club Villas. We're wait listed for the 17-19 at Vero Beach. I've been looking at prices for car rentals and found a huge price difference if you rent from Alamo or National and drop off on property as opposed to returning to MCO and taking the ME to your hotel. If I rent a compact car for 6 days from inside MCO and return to MCO it's $160. However if I rent from Alamo or National from MCO and return to Disney it's $450! That's a crazy price increase. April
