We are planning to spend the last three nights of our May 2007 trip to WDW at Vero Beach (Memorial Day weekend). I'm thinking of booking an inn room versus the typical 1br (just hubby and I) to guarantee the ocean view and save some points. Anyone have experience with the inn rooms?

go with the inn rooms. we have a 2-bedroom with an ocean view - but the inn rooms (higher) seems to get a much better view.

We were recently bumped up to a one bedroom from an INN oceanview. It was nice to get the extra room but we didn't really need a kitchen for 2 nights. I'd been looking forward to the view and we lost that. Got to hear air conditioners instead of ocean. No complaints, the upgrade was nice, but it gives me an excuse to book the INN oceanview again and try again. We'd stayed studio, and INN gardenview so was really looking forward to INN oceanview.

For just the 2 of us, I would always get an ocean view inn room, even though it does have 2 beds and not a sofa to sit and watch TV on. We've been in 3 OV rooms and they all have been marvelous.

DH watches more TV than me, and he wants a sofa this next time we go to VB, so we're getting a studio. That will be in March, and I'm just happy to be going. It's been too long between visits there. We went twice in 2005, none this year.

Definietly an INN room. We stayed on the second floor last year, and being close to the Green Cabin Room was great. I had stayed in several different two bedrooms before, but I think I'll always go Inn room from now on.

I asked this same question about a month ago. I ended up booking 2 nights in an ocean view inn room and 2 nights in a 1 bedroom. I felt like I wasn't home until we checked into our 1 bedroom.

The inn room was a corner room and the balcony faced gardens not the ocean. I was a little disappointed with that. We still had an ocean view thru 2 large windows. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice room, I was just looking forward to sitting on the balcony watching the ocean.

Our 1 bedroom was on the top floor and faced the ocean. We could not have asked for a better view. I know we were very lucky :cloud9: But I would definately only book a 1 bedroom from now on.

Have fun deciding!! :sunny:

We loved the Inn room. We were there this year over Spring Break and it was fantastic. I thought it was spacious. We had a balcony that had an amazing view of the ocean. Have a good Trip.:goodvibes

DW and I tend to switch back and forth from one year to the next. Since it is just the 2 of you an Inn room will certainly do the trick. Arrive early to best your chances of getting an ocean FACING room because there is no better view or sounds when you leave your door open a crack during bedtime. However, if you were going to have an extended stay you may want to have a full kitchen and/or washer and drier in your room. Being it's your first visit and only 3 nights I would definitely go with Inn room. :beach:

We loved the inn room too. Very spacious and was close to everything!!

Ours was on the 4th floor and we had a very private and big balcony.

Enjoy your stay!!

Do you remember the room number of the fourth floor room?

Depends if you want to eat in your room or not. We like having breakfast and lunch in the room and dinner out so the 1BR works out well for us. :cheer2:

We recently had two connecting OVIR at VB for our family of five. Our rooms were 2412 & 2413. Our balconies were quite large and very private. The rooms were great and we really enjoyed the trip. We had breakfast and lunch in the rooms and were fine without a stove/oven. I was close enough to the laundry to not care that we didn't have one in our room. Plus, when I'm on vacation, if I have to do laundry - then I treat myself with a trip to the Green Cabin Room while the clothes are washing - just my payment for doing "work" while on vacation!

I would go with the OVIR for the 2 of you for only 3 nights.

One thing to note, as Lexxiefern experienced, the OVIR can face the north and south(poolside) as well as the east (ocean).

Yesterday I called to make a ressie for VB for next March. I am taking my mom, who is coming down for a visit. We are going for 2 nights, but I wanted a 1 br, as she is more of a night owl than I am. I could not get a 1 br for both nights, so I waitlisted the 1 br and booked an ocean view inn room. Sounds like we will win either way!

:thumbsup2

My understanding was that there were no "connecting" DVC rooms. Is this different at VB? If this is true, how do you request them?

We had connecting OV rooms at VB as well. I didn't ask for them, because I didn't know they existed! If I wanted them now, I would ask when I made the ressie. I don't know if it's a type of reservation or a request.

There are connecting OVIR at VB. We were on the 4th floor in a pair. I counted 7 pairs of connecting OVIRs on the 4th floor map. I have a pic of the map on the back of the door somewhere... if I find it I'll post it later.
