Vermonters Take on The World ARRIVAL AT WDW!

We make our way on to WDW. DDs see the purple/green road signs first. You see, after that stop in St. Augustine- well, the DVD players got put away and they were on the hunt for the mouse house.
I see the signs I need .We stop at the light by McDonalds- I know ASMovies is just down the road from here. DDs do not. DH- not a clue. I turn left at the light and BOOM security check point. I show the kind man my confirmation and my Drivers License. The DDs- have their windows open, are all bug eyed- almost crying The security guy says to DD whose on his side hello there sweetie- have yourself a magical stay here at Walt Disney World. Thats all it took .they then realized- we are here! .DDs start yelling- giggling, laughing, yelling, hopping up and down as best they can while buckled. DH looks at me and says why did we wait this long to come? HUH? Mr. Theme Park Hater? Ill use this line later on in life Im sure when I want to go back and he questions me but you said .. HA!
Round the bend, and into ASMovies main parking lot. My trucks not even shut off and the kids unbuckled and hands are on the door handle. Excited? To say the least. I have to hold them back so they dont hit the bellhop guys as they run inside the main building. Now. Let me just say- I had requested a smoking room. No I dont smoke INSIDE the room, but I did not want to be on a non-smoking buildings balcony. The girls and DH stand and take it all in. They run over to the movie screen, they run back to DH dad look dad look dad look..Im in line, checking in. Its 330pm not much of a line- just 1 family in front of me.
I get to the counter, and check in- the CM is great. Shes explaining stuff to me yeah, I know Im a disser is what I feel like saying J but I let her continue. She gets to the part where she tells me my room- and low and behold the girls are by my side. Room 4547 Dalmatians ..uuttt ooohhh.. Thats a NON SMOKING building. I look at the lady- sort of funky I guess, and say isnt that a non-smoking building? Yes maam it is well, Im suppose to have a smoking room oh gosh, your right. At that moment- the DDs realize- we might not be in dalmations..MOM WE GOT THE DOG BUILDING??? Never mind I say to the CM well deal with it.
We go bring the truck around to the lot closer to our building. Not a far walk at all. We unload everything and I know we have a PS at Chef Mickey at 7pm. I made it late given the unknown on the traffic etc. The kids- well, they dont know were going to Chef Mickeys.
We unpack everything, and decide to explore the resort. We buy our refillable mugs, check out the pools, the arcade and the playground. And then I say hey- lets go find the monorail. They look at me like Ive lost my mind. Monorail? Whats that they ask. So I go remind them- that train in the air remember? Yup, they do.
Off to the contemporary we go. I drove to the Contemporary, being not familiar with the WDW transportation system yet. We arrive and I park close to one of the towers- not a far walk again. We go in, and up the elevator to the monorail. The kids still dont know its inside the resort- and to be honest with you- neither did DH. We make it to the loading place, and were the first ones there. I ask the CM can we sit up front..Nobody but her hears me. She says lemme check with the driver, as long as he doesnt have anyone. Well, let me just tell ya- 1st time at WDW , 1st time on the monorail- and my DDs got to drive it talk about pixie dust! We rode the entire loop, in the front. The CM driver asked me where we were going and I said just for a ride LOL.
Back out of the monorail and I said to DH Im a bit hungry are you? The DDs said we are! so I decide to try to find a restaurant. I head to the podium gave the CM our name and ##, she says just have your picture taken and well be right with you. The kids see Donald Duck- as hes standing right by the entrance, and they bring over their autograph books, and we get pictures. But still dont know what this is.
We are seated, and the characters at that time, are in the room behind the desert area. We are seated in the room above the buffet. They dont see us, and we dont see them. All of a sudden ..THEY SEE THEM! and here they come!
Now I really didnt think this food was that good, and the people in a LARGE group behind us really had no control over their kids. These were not just happy kids; having fun in the most magical place on earth- no these were rude, obnoxious kids. They were running around the tables, bumping into our chairs- 1 time bumping into DH hard enough that he hit the table, and spilled a drink. I dont blame the kids at all, I blame the 7 adults who were there and seemed to think that since they were at a Character Meal, the CMs and characters were suppose to provide constant Attention! DH and I kept looking at each other saying, were paying for the characters, not the food . It was true. And Id do it again.
From here, we had back to ASMovies- and I put DD8 so she's in bed near the phone. They crash, DH and I are tired as well, but sit up for awhile discussing the day, and my plans for everyone tomorrow. Before bed, well, I hit that little "wake up call" button on the phone. Nobody knows but me!
