Verizon Points

Anyone heard of this? I got an email earlier this week saying I had 19,000 points to be used for various gift cards and different items. Anyone seen this?

No I have not. I also did not get an email about the extra gig of data they added to our plan. I do everything electronically with them and get emails about bills, but nothing about this.

Another Verizon issue. I checked my account last month and it had my line and my husband's line each showing 7 G of data used and a red exclamation mark by each. I flipped out thinking how could we be that far over out data? Then I went to the actual usage page and it showed a small fraction of our available useage actually used. If I clicked the ! it took me to a great offer for 14 Gs of data for $212! I didn't appreciate the underhanded way they tried to get me to increase to a data plan I will never need.

I am a member of the verizon smart rewards program. Imo the points aren't that great. The giftcards don't have many options and you get like $5 off of them and the auctions seem like too much time. However the local coupons work great for us. And you get entered into sweepstakes when you log in. I didn't really think much about that cause I figured it was just a way to attract people, but surprisingly I have won twice in the last month. I received a $25 verizon giftcard and a $25 target giftcard. So thats been a nice perk other than that we don't think its really that great of a program.
