Who else is experiencing the Verizon outage right now? No incoming or outgoing calls.

Kind wish I was. I've gotten three calls from "dealer processing" and one from the "department of visa and mastercard" so far today, and two robocalls reminding me of covid protocols I agreed to when I bought my tickets to events happening this weekend. I'm sick of hearing the stupid thing ring.

Just tested mine using my Verizon land line (yes, we still have) one and my Verizon mobile phone. Was able to do incoming/outgoing calls both ways. I'm in Ohio.

"department of visa and mastercard"

LOL....I get those every so often. They are two different companies so to pretend they are calling on behalf of both is nonsense and likely some kind of scam. I always hang up before listening to their pitch. Whatever they are 'offering' I don't want it................LOL.

I've begun having fun with spam phone calls.

Me: Hello?
Spam: Hi, I'd like to talk with you about....
Me: Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.
Spam: Excuse me?
Me: Temba, his arms wide.
Spam: I don't understand.
Me: Shaka, when the walls fell.
Spam:.......(click)
Me: Sokath! His eyes open!

My wife now leaves the room......🤣

My mother keeps one of those silly dancing chicken toys on her table, whenever she gets a call she hits the button on it and sets the phone down next to it, when it's done she hits the button again until she starts hearing the fast busy signal from her phone.

Funny thing with any of those scam phone calls they never leave a message/number for you to call them back. Obviously they know they are running a scam and people are unlikely to return their call.................LOL. I just don't answer the phone if I don't know who is calling and NONE of them have ever left a message.

One of the best episodes!!!!!!

No outage here in California, as the map indicates.
I do get spam calls on my landline, but only one or two a year on my cell phone since I don't give out that number. Just 6 people have my cell phone number, all but one of those are family. I do get annoying alerts from time to time on my cell phone. Like today I got an alert that my Verizon bill is available to be viewed. Can't seem to find a way to turn that off. They also email me, but they aren't getting paid until the paper bill comes in the mail.

I frequently get voicemail left by the people telling me my auto warranty has run out and they want to provide me with an extended one. I block the number but obviously there are many numbers being used.

I also get a lot of those auto warranty calls but none have ever left a message. I assume extended auto warranties must be a big money maker for those selling them. There are also constant TV ads lately using well-known celebrities. Any type of warranty business only works if they have enough paying customers. The company expects to make a profit by paying out less in claims then they take in. What matters is they have properly estimated the payout rates and/or have fine print limiting their exposure on the big ticket items.

Even after the outage was resolved I still was getting Call Failed on my phone. I put my phone in airplane mode, then turned airplane mode off and I could make calls again. Just in case anyone else sees this and is still having issues, this should resolve the problem for you.
