I have verizon cellphones and I saw a commercial where a family uses their cell phone to find out ride wait times. Can anyone tell me about this???

VZW and disney have partnered up to release a moblile app for VZW customers. You can get more info at verizon wireless website it's called mobile
magic

It is 9.99 to download and is good for 6 months. I downloaded it a couple weeks ago. A couple observations, you have to be in the park to get wait times, but it does also tell you fast pass availabilty. This is helpful so that you don't waste your time truckin' to an attraction that there are no fast passes left for the day. The only thing I didn't like is that it won't give wait times during extra magic hours. You are on your own for that. It also gives the open-close times for the resturants, which can also be handy!

It also only works in the park you are in. So say you are in Magic Kingdom, and your family is thinking about heading over to Epcot...you want to know what wait times are like for Soarin' or Test Track.....sorry it's a no go.

I have it, we went back in Feb, and are going back again in May. I LOVED it. I didn't have to worry about pullign out a park map, and most times while we stood in line for one attraction, we could plan ahead to where/what we wanted to do/go on next.

It also lets you know where and what characters are available. It gives you a park map and finds YOUR location in the park by GPS (handy when I needed a bathroom STAT). It also gives restaurant descriptions/times, show times, etc.

Another feature is that it also gives you resort information. I turned it on as we were passing Ft. Wilderness and it gave me the info for that resort.

It updates in real time -- no waiting on other users to provide input. I was at the safari in Ak while my husband was getting FPs. The return time posted was from 11:52-12:02....I look up and see the FP return time changing on the sign and then looked at my phone which updated with the info seconds later.

I found it priceless.

-- the only downside is that my phone (EnV touch) uses a ton of power, so I HAD to make sure to charge my phone at night so it would be fully charged the next day for use in the parks. Once I brought up the application, I left it running the entire time we were at a park so all I had to do was pull it out of my purse to look at it when needed.

Thanks for the helpful info! My family is going to WDW in October and cannot wait to download this on our phone.:wizard:

If you can't download the app like me (I'm a Verizon customer but I use a BB) you can go to http://m.disneyworld.go.com/ on your phone's browser to access it.

Make sure you use that exact address though.

Wow, thanks!! I didn't know that and I've been cranky about not being able to get the app for my Droid. I don't know why I hadn't heard that the information was available on a website before. Thanks!

No problem. I went to the Verizon Wireless website to make sure there wasn't just another way to download on to BB that I'm unaware of and the search brought me that link! I was so excited. I'm going to try it out Friday!
