Verifying points on resale contract

I just read on another forum you should have your resale agent check that the contract you are buying truly has the banked and available points it states and you should ask for a point usage report. I thought this was done upon listing and part of title/estopple. Is this something I need to request or has it already been taken care of?

I don't think this is necessary if you are buying through one of the major DVC re-sellers. They do a good job of making sure what they say they are selling, is really what they are selling. If it is a private sale, I would agree with the this. But you could still talk to the agent to ease your concern. Give him/her a call.

But it IS part of what estopple is all about. I withdrew an offer on a contract after learning that about 130 of the points listed as being available had been used by the sellers, just they listed. They never told the agent until they were called after DVC told the agent - while checking for estopple - that the points were wrong.

I asked several times about the total amount of points available on my VB contract. The "other" broker who listed the contract failed to tell me I had previous UY's points banked! I only found out when I went to look at my contract online thru DVCMember.com after closing. At least I was pleasantly surprised, but yet another reason I will not use that "other" company!

So this will show up if there is a discrepancy?
I don't want to bother my agent unneccessarily, but do want to make sure I get what I contracted for.
Should I call my agent to check or just assume it's correct?
