The "discontinued service" which was never proactively offered (only done occasionally by request) resulted in people being able to have other peoples' tickets reissued to them, or having multiple copies of the same ticket (voided extras look just like active tickets, and sell just as easily.) Due to the possibility of ticket theft as a result, the "in person only" policy was enacted.
Oh don't worry. After Safari Steve's helpful explanation as to the reason behind the discontinuation of this service, I certainly understand why it had to be done. Even though I know not to "blame" Disney, I'm still kind of bummed about the loss of a very helpful service. No big deal.
