verandah or not need advice quick

We've never cruised without a verandah and probably never will.
It was very nice last year when we had colds and elected to stay in our rooms for the duration - ate out on the verandah, watched the sunset and never felt like we were missing out on the cruise because we had it!

DH and I couldn't survive without a verandah. I love getting up first thing in the morning and walking outside in my jammies. We would have coffee and some small food item delivered before we went to breakfast so we would sit out there and enjoy it. We also had lunch out there one day. Plus whenever we were in the room to change or relax or whatever we would spend some time out there. We have done the 3 and 4 day and really even on the 4 day the room started feeling so small. It would have been worse without the verandah.

But again that is just our opinion.

Had a verandah on 1st 7 day Magic and absolutely loved it. Spent lots of time out there. But when we got off we felt we had missed out on a lot of stuff--deck parties, shows, etc. I dont think we ever sat around the pools.
Next we did the 4 day inside cabin and were never in there. We still couldn't do everything there was to do, so we're going back on the 7 day and got a secret porthole thru Dreams.
Its nice to have the balcony to relax on but its nice to get up on deck and mingle too. I don't know what to suggest. We just book whatever we can afford at the time.
As long as I'm on Disney I'm happy and I'm sure you will be too.

I don't remember if it's just you and hubby or if you have kids comming along too. Regardless you will blow through $800 quickly on board: Tips, excursions, a few souvieners and a few drinks and poof the $800 is gone. So one of the questions is do you have the extra cash already budgeted for these "incedentals"? If not, plan for them and then see if you have the extra money to afford the upgrade.

We have never sailed with a veranda. We have worked our way up to having a porthole. Now we won't go back to an inside stateroom. But on our first two cruises we had inside rooms and really enjoyed ourselves. You are in the room to change cloths and to sleep. Like others have said the problem is the room is so dark that you are likely to sleep in in the morning because you played hard the day before and you have no concept of what time it really is.

That is the reason we have moved to the rooms with a porthole. With the natual light you know if its the middle of the night or during the day (along with it helping to wake you up in the morning).

Have a great trip regardless of the room you have. There are lots of places to relax outside: Deck 4 on the loungers, the "secret verandas" on decks 7 & 8, up on decks 9 and 10 you can be outside too. Ok for these places you need to be appropriatly dressed as opposed to a veranda.

Our first Disney cruise we had a veranda and we were hardly ever there. The second cruise we took an inside cabin (cat 11) and it was perfect for the two of us. This two week cruise in January (we'll be there with you) we booked another inside cabin.

We stay out around the ship and only nap, sleep and cleanup in our room. The room is not what we cruise for!
