Vera Bradley on Sale/Opinions Needed!

The sale is the "budget" portion of the post (who doesn't love to save on pretty handbags?) but I need some opinions on which bag to get my sister-in-law for Christmas. Both are on sale for $29.99 (WOW!) and shipping is $5.95 until September 18th.

Bag #1 is the Pleated Tote in Hello Dahlia

Bag #2 is the Angle Tote in Carnaby

I like both prints but Hello Dahlia is considerably pricier in the Angle Tote style and the Carnaby is sold out in the Pleated Tote style. Pleated Tote is about 2 inches bigger in height and width. (14" vs 11 1/2") I dunno and my DD1 is no help at all!

VB constantly has sales. If you don't like these bags or prints, wait a few weeks.

Personally, I like the the pleated tote because of the side pockets.

Are you on their email list? That's how they communicate sales. Also, have you
given your email to a local store? If you go through the store and give them your birthday info you will get a nice coupon.

I just ordered a Side by Side, Pleated Tote and a full size hanging travel organizer. All in Totally Turq, they were 60% off. I paid 31.20 on Saturday for the Pleated Tote @ 60% off, and today it's $29.99 in all sale patterns. My total came to $53, full price would have been $191.

So things go on sale all the time.

Get on their e-mail list and request a catalog, on the back of each catalog is a Q, the last few Q's have been $20 off a purchase of $75.

A month ago, I was able to use the free shipping on order over $100 and the $20 off also. I was able to get their new 100 handbag, a new hispter, Lets Do lunch for $83 after the $20 off, and free shipping, plus I had a credit of $42 from a return, so 3 items for about $45, which full price would have cost $138.

Another option, call the outlet stores! The girls/guys in Orlando are really nice and will gladly look for what you want and ship it. They did it for me and sent it in a vera gift back inside the box. It was my birthday so they also gave me a birthday card hand written. Worth a shot!

If you dont want to pay full price for Vera Bradley, check out craigslist.

I have been able to score some great finds using Craigslist,

Some pieces on there are brand new, and yes some are used, but generally speaking, Vera Bradley users take care of their goods. And of course you are only going to purhcase something that's in good condition anyways.

I just bought the Pleated Tote a few weeks ago and have been carrying it ever since...I have to say that I LOVE it!! I love the inside and outside pockets, and the fact that it zips instead of just a snap closure makes it even better!

It says 10 1/2" strap drop.

I think I'm going with the pleated tote for SIL in the Hello Dahlia. $36 with shipping for the tote is great considering it's usually $80 alone. She won't know I got it that much on sale but if she does, that's okay too. We're both thrifty. Oh, and I do get the birthday coupon but that's used for me.

I got a VB travel belt bag for DD and I a couple of weeks ago and paid only $14.99 each. They are going to be our Disney/Universal bags. Hate the traditional fanny packs but these are a little bit cuter and want to avoid those lockers at Universal!

I have a pleated tote and love it. Its one of my favorite styles from VB. As for patterns I feel like they are very subjective. If your picking it for a friend look at the colors she wears and what she likes.

I wish I would have known about this sale. I would have bought a pleated tote in Hello Dahlia to match a dahlia wallet I have. Now only old ugly colors are left.
Wow, the $80 price tag for newer colors is ridiculous, imho.

I checked out the other bag on sale, but it's weird looking. Must be why all the sale colors are still available.

Sure would have liked a pleated tote though.
