Vera Bradley lovers... help would be appreciated!

After carrying my Mandy in Safari Sunset for two weeks, I figured I'd better put it away until fall and switch back to my Viva La Vera bag for the summer. But I missed Safari Sunset. So today I bought a Carry It All Wristlet in SS. I'll just keep it in my Viva La Vera purse. Yea, that works.

haha, I hear you. I am excited to use my Mandy but figure since summer really just started here (the temps here were lower than average pretty much all through June) I should wait a while. I'm using my Mediterranean Blue bucket tote (but also my Safari Sunset gallery wallet!) instead. Love that style!

I had a job interview in the next town over and somehow ;) I just knew there was a VB retailer nearby. So I drove only a little out of my way to see what they had. A few different things than my usual retailer has but I can't find anyone within a reasonable driving distance that has kitchen accessories. I'd like to see some placemats and napkins. So sad... So I MapQuested my closest Outlet. Three darn hours away. :headache:

:rolleyes1

No worries, though-- I see you live in Westchester-- Woodbury Commons is getting a VB outlet in September!

Yes!! :yay: :woohoo:  :cool1:

I mean, so I've heard... :lmao:

I am planning on going soon after it opens. Debating going on opening day. It will probably be crazy busy but might be a lot of fun too. I guess we don't have an opening date yet, do we?

We are in South Salem, really close to Ridgefield, CT so I go to the Loft at Bissell's. They know me very well there. :rolleyes1 There is also J&R Pharmacy in Vista that has a smaller selection. Either place is five minutes away. Probably not a good thing. ;)

I just got the Sophie and Carry It All wristlet in Deco Daisy. I love the fall prints but I have been wanting something in Deco Daisy for a while. I wasn't crazy about the print when it first came out but now I am in love with it.

My father and I were spending the afternoon together and we made a trip out to Vera Bradley. He knew I would be in the store for a while so he went to treat me to a latte. When he came back I made my decision to get the Sophie and he said he would buy me to a wallet or wristlet to go with. I feel so spoiled. I may be in my mid twenties but I am still a Daddy's Girl through and through.

A couple of months ago I was having a really hard time at work. My job changed dramatically and it felt like my work load doubled over night. A treat to myself and to remind myself why I work in the first place I bought the Carry It All wristlet in Very Berry Paisley. My father kind of got a kick out of me geeking out on my wrislet and talking about all of the awesome features and spinning it around on my wrist.

I love the Sophie. I was deciding between that and the On The Go bag but I liked the sleek style of the Sophie more especially in the Deco Daisy print. I am surprised at how much I can fit in the bag. I think it will go awesome with a black dress or a pair of khaki pants and a denim jacket.

What a sweet story!!:cloud9:

I love my Carry It All Wristlet. I used it all day yesterday. VERY handy! :thumbsup2

I saw a lady carrying a Very Berry Paisley bag (not sure which one) and wow! I love that print! Also, pretty much accosted a woman at Ikea yesterday when I saw she was carrying a tote in Folkloric. Ohhh I like that one too. Deco Daisy is growing on me. I too wasn't thrilled with it at first but it's growing on me.

OK I better start saving for opening day I guess.

Help!! I want to get a new bag for our trip to Disney in September. I am looking at the backpack but can it hold 2 water bottles in the outside pockets? Those pockets look tight. Are there any other VB bags that would hold a couple of water bottles?

You are right, the pockets would be too tight for water bottles, although water bottles fit nicely INSIDE the backpack! ;)

I'm not sure if there any vb bags that aren't huge that would carry water bottles the way you are wanting. (assuming you would want a bag to hold water bottles as well as other things!). I am a Vera addict and I couldn't find a vb bag that would do what I wanted it to do as a "park bag"! Although I'm very particular about park bag standards! I found that overland donner bags are FABULOUS for water carrying. Great little pockets on the side that work beautifully. Of course the Baggallini messenger sling is good and has a water bottle pocket, although that can make for a heavy bag! This year I have a Patagonia Atom sling bag. Small but roomy!

Of course I'm accessorizing with Vera! I just got a double ID wristlet that will be great for a wallet/organizer! And I have my Lizzy...and my weekender will be my carry on and my travel wallet will keep me organized as we fly...

See! ADDICT!!!! :thumbsup2

Vera Bradley is addicting!! I'm new to it and already bought a duffle bag, an i.d. wristlet, and bag that I don't remember its name but its in one of the new fall colors! love it!

What !

I can't believe I just found this thread !

I watched some of the youtube videos, which led to others, such as the Vera Bradley Outlet Sale. OOOOMMMMGGGaawwdddd.

It looks like it's in a airplane hanger ! Do they have like 2x a year, anybody know if they are having a fall one ?
Where ? When ? Who ? How ? ( aaaaggghhh, the agony )

Maybe we should change the title of this thread to "Vera Bradley Addicts Support Group"! :lmao:

I was having a bad day yesterday so I stopped into my local VB retailer just to browse, and bought a lanyard in Safari Sunset, and ended up talking to the saleslady for over an hour! I made a new friend! We are going to do lunch. Isn't that funny! :thumbsup2

I am on a first name basis with the manager and most of the sales girls at the VB store near me! There is just something about that place...it's like Disney, everyone is just so darn happy!!!:lovestruc

Every time I'm having a bad day, I know that a trip to the VB store will cheer me up. :thumbsup2

I just purchased a double ID wristlet in Mocha Rouge and a pair of mocha rouge flip flops...and a pair in Happy Snail!!! LOVE!!!!

I'm going to the World in October, and trying to figure out a park bag to use. I'm thinking that I want to get a VB Hipster. Can anyone comment on how good that is to use as a park bag? I'll most likely be carrying tickets, a credit card, drivers license, camera, iPhone, toothbrush/toothpaste, sunscreen, tiny first aid kit (fits in a snack size ziploc bag), clean socks, gum and a couple of small snacks (granola bars, pb crackers, something like that). Will that fit/work in the hipster?

I think it would work just fine, unless you have a large camera. I'm carrying my Hipster today and it's got:

  • iPhone (in the outside pocket)
  • Full-size wallet
  • Small camera
  • Glasses case
  • Lip gloss
  • Folding brush
  • Card case
  • Pen
  • Bunch of receipts

And I still have room.

That should all fit just fine unless your camera is of the non-point&shoot variety. Commenting on the toothbrush and toothpaste, have you every tried Wisps? They're mini toothbrushes with a bead of toothpaste in the middle. They usually come in a 4 pack and they're super tiny. It's an alternative and they work really well!

My camera is a small point and shoot (canon elph).

I have tried Wisps and might use those instead, if I find a really good sale between now and my trip, but I'm kind of cheap :lmao: But thanks for the suggestion and reminder. I do have a travel toothbrush that folds in half and has a slide over cover which I usually carry in my purse.

So it sounds like the Hipster is a good do-able option. Now I just have to find it in Safari Sunset. I went to three local stores, and none of them had it. One of them told me that the new patterns in the Hipster are all backordered. Maybe I'll just order it online instead.

The hipster is an awesome park bag. I think you'll definitely be able to fit everything in there.

I received a VB fall catalog in the mail yesterday. It's aimed at college students, but I'm still enjoying it

I definitely need something in safari sunset, and the mocha pattern is growing on me, too...but I don't think I'm ever going to embrace happy snails!

I may have mentioned this before, but for those of you looking for a park bag or traveling bag, especially Disney...please try the Pleated Tote w/ a wristlet tucked inside. TO me this is the perfect bag all around. The two outside end pockets are perfect for water bottles, it zippers closed, has an inside zipper pocket and slip pockets on theother side...but the top ofthe bag is cut out a little, so it really fits nice on the shoulder. I have a 5yo DD and I have been using this bag since the pull up stage. It holds everything and becuase it is Vera, it never seems to heavy or bulky. And if I am running out without my daughter, I can just grab my wristlet adn run!

I will say one my secret for Disney, especially if you go during the rainy seasn is to pack stuff in a ziploc bag, as Vera's are def. not waterproof.

As for my latest purchases..I got two TSV's from the Q, happy snails and Safari Sunset...I missed out onthe double id wristlet and am kicking myself over it. I am also very interested in the new Schoolbag/backpack that is coming out..cant wait to see it!
