So we went on a feild trip almost a week and a half ago. so my lead teacher we can call her X, decides to take off her feild trip shirt. She also decides that its ok to leave her group and go talk to another teachers children while were on the bus. Then after lunch shes on the playground with a soda. So someone sends the soda photo to my boss and now shes conducting a investigation. Im the ONLY one whos been called in the office twice. My boss asked me about a million questions and expects me to remember all that went on. Excuse me? Im buzy with my students, nOt babysitting x. Im so frustrated with this cause I have no real answers for her but Im the one stuck in the middle. Sorry, Hada vent. Also no one could track this to me. Im on a freind computer.

Sounds like a whole lotta nothin' to me. :confused3

If the kids were buckled into their seats on the bus, what's the big deal if the teacher talks with another teacher during the ride? I do that, and I've been teaching for over 20 years! She didn't leave children wandering all over the zoo or something dangerous.

And she had a SODA?? God forbid! I drink soda all day in front of my students. I hate coffee, I need caffeine. At least she wasn't drinking beer or smoking pot. :rotfl2:

I think you're blowing things way out of proportion here.

I could care less. my boss is making this a huge deal. She didnt bother buckling any of the kids, that became my job.

I think you must have left something out..:confused3

She was on the bus and took off her field trip shirt.. Was it hot? Did she put it back on? Is it mandatory that she wear it at all times?

She walked away from seated students on the bus to talk to another teacher? I've been both an aide and a driver for severely handicapped children in the past (on lift busses) and as long as the children were safe, there was no "rule" that the aide couldn't leave her seat.. :confused3

What is the issue with soda on the playground? Is there a rule that she's not supposed to drink soda? If so, why?

Why are you the only one being questioned? Why not the other teachers? How about the bus driver? What exactly does your boss expect you to remember that is so important?

I'm totally confused..:confused3 Not sure why this is such a big deal to your boss and why anyone would send him a "soda photo".. The whole thing sounds bizzarre to me..:confused3

I'm sorry you're having problems at work. It does seem stupid for your boss to care about a teacher having a soda and whatever else, but bosses care about the stupidest things sometimes.

Well the rule is if your on a feild trip you must have the shirt on. Apparently shes not suposted to drink soda but theres no clear rules. I do know other teachers who were on the trip (7 of us total) were questioned but im the ONLY one who got called back into the office. To me it is bizzarre. The shirt, Ok be pissed about it, but let the rest go ANd leave me alone.

What are you supposed to drink? You surely can't be prevented from drinking anything? What about dehydration.

Please don't let me work in a district where I cannot drink soda. If I didn't have my 2 o'clock Coke I would pass clean out.

we can have it in the classroom if its conceled. this was a open soda on a feild trip. I still think its not a biggie.

Morning confusion. She took off her shirt? Was she wearing a bra? :scared1:

Really not that big of a deal. One of your bosses asked you some questions. That is also part of your job - communicating with others. It isn't your place to decide whether or not the Lead teacher broke any rules. Just answer the questions truthfully and return to the kiddos.

alot of us wear our feild trip shirts over another shirt (less washing and we can take them off when we get back). I lately havent been doing that becuase I like being alowed to wear a tee to work!!!

OK, so she went to talk to another teacher and you had to do some work-buckling kids into the seats--sounds like your job to me. Then, how do you know you are the only one called in?? Maybe the other teachers were called in when you weren't around or the director called them at home. Besides that, you were the one with her group, you would have had the most direct information so it seems reasonable that the director would talk to you more than the others. It sounds like there are a lot of whiny, catty women where you work.

after taking off the t-shirt was she nekkidd? Was she giving 1 year olds soda? Maybe they are just trying to find out the whole story and by talking to all of the teachers they are making sure they get the same basic story from everyone.

are there rules that stipulate the teachers must wear the field trip shirt the entire time? that teachers may not drink a soda during working hours? I guess I don't see the big deal...and who took the picture? why weren't they watching their group?

a little off topic, but noticed your signature - do you really have 8 cats?

:rotfl2: I asked dthat in another thread-yes, but some of them don't live there so it's not 8 cats all together all the time.

Whats the bear at the end? Is he a dog? Just curious. And is the new boyfriend in there too? How did the date go we never heard about that!popcorn::
