of my autumn plans have been cancelled because of rain. I foolishly thought I could sneak off to NYC this weekend before the holiday rush and subsequent deep freeze. But surprise, surprise....rain! Or is it rain and wind? Or flooding downpours? Who the heck knows.

And no, I'm not going in the rain. When in NYC, I typically have no plans other than to wander aimlessly on foot. It's an outdoors kind of day.

Thanks for listening
(so mad!)

Bummer! Sorry you've been rained out of your fun!!!
Your anger aside, when I read this it made me chuckle a little. We moved from rainy northern Oregon to the East Coast. Yesterday when my husband picked up my daughter from school he said he felt weird because he was the only one with no winter coat and no umbrella (where we lived in Oregon only tourists used umbrellas). Later that day one my neighbors made a comment about my son playing in the rain. My husband just laughed and told her that where we moved from they call this "liquid sunshine"!
In the pacific northwest you don't cancel plans because of rain, you cancel plans because of sunshine!!!

How funny. Maybe I'll throw on some boots and something waterproof and use you as my inspiration. Nothing about sitting at home all weekend appeals to me.

Ooooh...I'll bet you could find some super cute rain boots in NYC!!!! Probably a matching umbrella too!
I have a tall pair of rain boots with polka dots. It made me so happy to put them on again this month, they just make me feel cute!!
We thought it was so weird when we moved here that kids wore crocks with everything. In Astoria they all wore boots with everything. Rain boots with your church dress? Sure! Nobody would even bat an eyelash.
