I just had a solicitor come into my backyard. We do have a no soliciting sign our door.

He tried to tell me that he was no selling anything. He just wanted to let me know what was happening behind us.

I told him I was not interested in Comcast. We are happy with WOW. I told him I knew that AT&T Universe lines were installed in the back about 4 months ago. Dh called because he was waiting for it. But, after talking with them found out they did not offer as many HD channels as WOW.

He told me that was the first time he had ever heard that. He wanted to continue to talk with me about it. Again, I told him I was not interested and reminded him we have a no solicting sign in our front door.

Again, he told me he was not selling anything. Sure, he was-CABLE.

He wanted to give me a flier to give to DH. I told him no.

He said he would have to put it on my front door. I told him no.
He said he had to. Then, I told him I would call the police if he did.

He wanted to shake my hand before he left.No way in Hay.

Why are they so pushy and can't tak no for an answer?

My neighbor was nicer than me, he talked with him for 15 minutes.( Just called my DD inside- he was been there about 40 minutes now)

oh that would just p me off big time. The ones that get me are the teens selling newspaper supscriptions door to door to "earn their way to a scolarship" and not only will they take no for an answer but ask you why you wont buy from them.

Woah! That guy wouldn't take no for an answer! You were a lot nicer than what I would've been. I'd slam the door in his face! But where I live we mostly get people trying to convert us to a different religion.:confused3

I would of slammed the door. But, he was in my backyard. Apparently, just knocking on the front door wasn't enough.

I think for him to come into your backyard was TOTALLY off base, and actually trespassing. It's one thing when you choose not to answer your door, but it's like he took advantage of no physical boundries! The company deserves a phone call on that one, in my opinion.

I have emailed their customer service dept. Hopefuly, they will respond.

I'm guessing you don't have a fence and some hungry dogs?

Seriously though he should not have walked into your back yard thats just wrong.

We get the religious ones (I like my religion thank you), and Dh had a guy selling steaks out of the back of his truck. I look out the window and if I don't recognize the car, I don't open the door.

That guy had no right to come in your back yard like that. I probably would have said a few not so nice words and the dog would have eaten him alive :lmao:

My cousin told me when the religious folks come to the door to aks them "Do YOU know Jesus" and they would run for the hills.

Put a no trespassing sign up. Tell them your property is posted "no trespassing" and they are subject to arrest if they don't leave immediately.

The gate was closed becaue our dogs were out. I had a 65lb Lab/ Dalmation mix foaming at th mouth, growling at him and a 11lb Aussie Shepard puppy howling. It did not bother him. If I had not been out there, he would not have made it past the gate. I am the only reason he did not get bite.

That man is nuts then. How brazen to open a gate and walk in! I don't know what my dogs would have done.

I would have let the dogs attack him. If someone comes in my back yard, I think they are trying to harm me. The pool man comes to my front door every week to let me know that he is here. Then I make sure the dogs stay inside.

OMG I hate it when they come to my door but I would be livid if one had the nerve to walk into my backyard, what nerve  You should have told him he was trespassing and you were going to call the police unless he left your property.

I won't even open the door when I see solicitors at the front door. I had one guy a few weeks ago that rang the front doorbell several times and then started banging on the glass. My dog was going crazy at this point. That usually scares them away. :thumbsup2 He eventually left, or so I thought, until I heard my back doorbell ringing. We have a fenced yard with gate, which was closed at the time. I actually went outside because he was beginning to walk up onto my second story deck. I went outside and asked if I could help him and he said, "oh, there you are" We have a door from the second floor that goes out to the deck and apparently he was going to try banging on that door too.

Some type of insurance. Said I wasn't interested. He even asked me if he should come back the following week, I guess to let this all sink in. :rotfl2:
