VENT! How many more American Pickers, Restorers, Loggers etc?

Hoarders makes me clean too! I usually clean and watch... the bug ones are the worst for me... ugh

OHHH, I'm not the only one! Thank GOD. I usually can't get thru an episode of Hoarders without finding something to clean. If I have laundry, I'll throw it in to wash. If I have dishes, I'll wash them. Hoarders motivates me to clean my house!

They need to rename Swamp People to "Gator Head Shots" because that is pretty much all that show is.

My DH and I watch that show. The other day made me realize that maybe we were watching it a bit to much.

My 4 year old daughter was pretending that she was fishing from the couch. Then when she caught her gator she asked me to had her the shotgun so she could shoot it in the head.

Hoarders makes me NOT clean. It simply convinces me that our place just isn't that messy.

Here's how I feel about these 'reality' shows:

We get hundreds of channels of television. At any moment, probably two thirds of those channels have something totally stupid on. I don't watch those stupid shows. Instead, I move onto one of thechannels that has something good on or I watch something that is on TiVo or I go do something else.

I'd never even heard of American Pickers or Pawn Stars before I opened this thread! Or Ice Drivers or whatever it's called. I must keep these shows secret from my husband. Right now he is perfectly content to just watch House Hunters with me!

I don't watch any of these shows regularly but usually find them entertaining when I do. Saturday night we were at my In-Laws and we saw that show with the Rock Star Exterminator dealing with a Black Widow infested house. It was something else again. My MIL & FIL love these shows and, come to think of it, this is probably why I've seen at least one episode of each.

I think WDW should sponsor a show called "People of the DIS" where the Tag Fairy meets with different DIS'ers and surprises them with trips to WDW then hangs out with them for the day. It would be so much cheaper than normal Disney advertising AND would be a guaranteed success because I wold totally watch it, I wouldn't want to be on it but I would totally watch it.

My husband loves Pawn Stars and I watch Swamp people out of morbid curiosity and sometimes I secretly hope that the gator wins.

I used to watch Clean House- to motivate mytself to clean- but watching Hoarders seems to help me get the job done a little faster.

I can't stand Pickers- it always feels like they are trying to take advantage of some poor old person who happens to have something of value that they want. And the "cold calls" they do make me sick. Who just shows up at someones house and asks if they can look through your yard/barn/garage?

We love Pawn Stars, and Swamp People. American pickers we watch but they really make me mad. I agree with the PP that they take advantage of older people.

I even befriended Troy from Swamp People on facebook. He is selling tshirts with "chootem" on it on chootem.com. I have to get one for DS11 for Christmas!

I think we're just trying to catch up with all the Real Housewives, Desperate Housewives, reality shows like Jon & Kate (now Kate plus too many kids, the Duggars, etc.. A fair balance is not too much to ask for and that works best with two TVs in every house.

Ah but I don't like thoes shows either.

Swamp People are coming to town to cook gator meat this Saturday for a fundraiser! lol

I do not watch but my DH does...he'll flip through and watch all the mentioned.

I will watch American Pickers ('cause I like to see the old junk) but I do not feel the way the above posters feel about it. I do worry people nearby will recognize the old people and steal from them.

I watch Pawn Stars and find it interesting. Last night there was some newer show on about people taking things to be auctioned! Not sure of the name.

I'm thinking someone should spray Billy the exterminator.
I can't watch Hoarders. Gives me anxiety. How do people live like that??
