But remember that the cashier is just doing what they're told to do. It's like the people at the drive-thru automatically asking you if you want a pie or a second whatever for free -- it's whatever the "promotion of the month" is. No one expects you to say yes every time (or even at all -- the cashiers always look shocked when I say, "sure" when they ask about donating). But they ask because that's what the store is doing that month.Id spam them without hesitation! Do it now. You will be much happier! LOL.
One thing that irks me is when cashiers ask for donations. Every store i shop asks if i want to donate $2 plus, to whatever charity. EVERY store. I shop a lot, so I could quite easily go broke if I said yes every time. I donate on my own time, im not comfortable giving money at the register simply because im skeptical as to where the money is going.
FWIW, I'm much more comfortable giving money at the register than dropping it in a bucket somewhere. It ends up on my receipt (helpful for tax purposes) and provides a record of the store's participation. If you wanted to, it's pretty easy to ask the store for a record of how much they raised and where it went.
